Embattled former Queens Of The Stone Age star Nick Oliveri has rejoined the band in the studio.

The bassist was kicked out of the band in 2004 following allegations of domestic violence, but he has revealed he'll be reteaming with Josh Homme as the Queens work on new material with temporary drummer Dave Grohl.

In a note on the Facebook.com page for his band Mondo Generator, he writes, "Nick has re-joined (band) Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned."

The recording news is a positive for the rocker, who avoided a potential 15-year jail sentence for charges relating to domestic violence, firearm and drug offences in August (12), according to NME.com.

He negotiated a deal that included three years of felony probation, 200 hours of community service and 52 weeks of anger management sessions.
