Radiohead have announced a world tour which will see the band visit 11 countries and play at least 22 shows. News of the tour has caused fans to speculate that the band’s ninth studio album could be on the way and their social media pages have been updated with to feature new artwork, reminiscent of the work by long-time collaborator Stanley Donwood. 

Announcing the dates on their official website, Radiohead wrote, “These are all the headline shows that the band will play in 2016.” However there is speculation that further festival dates will follow.

The dates include three night’s at London’s 3,300 capacity Roundhouse venue in May as well as two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden. They will also visit Amsterdam, Los Angles and Mexico City.

The band have also been booked for a string of festivals this year including Japan’s Summersonic Festival and Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin. To try and combat secondary ticketing, fans will be limited to just two tickets per order and may need to bring ID with them which matches their ticket.

This morning Radiohead also updated their social media pages with new artwork, hinting that their ninth studio album could be on the way. The new images look to be the work of long-time artistic collaborator Stanley Donwood.

In January rumours began circulating that a new record was imminent, after they set up a company called Dawn Chorus LLP, something they usually do prior to a new release. The band released their eighth album, The King of Limbs, in January 2011.
