Raven-Symoné Pearman has been on a television set since she was three years old. Sadly, her days in the spotlight were not always happy, as she revealed in a recent televised appearance. Back in 1992, Raven was appearing on The Cosby Show, in which she starred as Bill Cosby’s stepdaughter Olivia, when she was told she should stop eating as she was gaining weight.

"It was definitely hard,” 29-year-old Raven revealed. "I remember not being able to have the bagel or anything at – we would call it crafty, where it's just a table of food, ready for you to eat whatever you want. And I remember people would be like, 'You can't eat that. You're getting fat!' I'm like, 'I'm 7! I'm hungry!'"

Raven did not state who fat shamed her but she did reveal the impact the comments made on her in later life.

"I'm not going to put them on blast, but that's what I was told at that young of an age," Raven continued, as People reports. "Even up until I got up to 180 lbs. on That's So Raven, you put nasty stuff in front of me, or you put images of these women that I’ll never aspire to, of course I'm going to get depressed."

Raven starred in The Cosby Show between 1989 and 1992. She continued working throughout her teens, appearing on such shows as Hangin’ With Mr Cooper and her own show, That’s So Raven. Two years ago, Raven announced she was ‘retiring’ from public life in order to finally, after 24 years of working, take a break. She had a few months off but returned to the spotlight soon after, taking up a full time position as a panellist on The View.
