Real Housewives OF WASHINGTON DC has officially been cancelled by Bravo, reports CNN. The reality television show has failed to capitalize on the success of its sister shows 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' and 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' and will end after just one season.
The news will come as no surprise to fans of the 'Housewives' franchise who were scathing in their criticism of the 'D.C' cast. Cat Ommanney, Lynda Erkiletian, Mary Amons, Stacie Turner and Michaele Salahi were accused of being "boring" in comparison to cast-members of the other 'Housewives' shows. Andy Cohen, executive vice president of original programming and development at Bravo, said, "We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise. I wish all our D.C. wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity". The series, which failed to generate much buzz, often focused on Salahi and her husband Tareq, who were prone to making over-the-top claims.
REAL HOUSEWIVES OF WASHINGTON DC cast-member Cat Ommanney already looks to be moving on after the show's cancellation, she is booked to appear on the forthcoming television show 'Watch What Happens Live: Royal Wedding Spectacular".
