A new trailer has emerged for ‘Into The Storm’, the tornado thriller starring Richard Armitage and directed by Steven Quale. In it, we get an extended look at the death and destruction caused by the movies main antagonist: a monster storm.

Into The Storm

Ostensibly, 'Into The Storm' looks like a found-footage disaster film, but wide angle shots of mother nature’s latest disaster place it somewhere between a classic action thriller and the Cloverfield brand.

One of the film’s biggest draws is its use of CGI to paint the titular storm. Quale previously worked with director James Cameron on 'Avatar' and 'Titanic,' – two films lauded for their excellence in special effects. And you can really see the influence here – even if ‘Into The Storm’s’ story is shaky, we’d be willing to bet his CGI work will offer more than just a redeeming feature.

"In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot,” reads the film’s synopsis.

“Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, “Black Sky” throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme."

‘Into The Storm’ hasn’t really showed up on anyone’s radar of late, despite being released in little over a month. This explosive new trailer should see to that, though.
