Actor Richard Dreyfuss Is Suing Bosses At Movie Giant Disney To Reclaim Earnings From 1991 Film What About Bob?
The Jaws actor has filed a joint lawsuit with Christine Wagner, the widow of producer Raymond Wagner, who also believes her late husband did not receive a fair share of profits for his work on 1989 drama Turner & Hooch.
They both accuse Disney bosses of sabotaging their accountants' efforts to audit records of the movies' profits.
The complaint, filed on Thursday (09Apr15), reads, "Disney refused to let (accountancy firm) Robinson Inc. perform these audits on behalf of Christine Wagner and Richard Dreyfuss... In addition, all of the Plaintiffs have suffered additional damages, in an amount to be determined at trial by their inability to proceed forward with their profit participation audits of Turner & Hooch and What About Bob?"
They are suing for damages and breach of contract. They are also seeking an injunction against Disney bosses so Robinson Inc. accountants can proceed with the audit and for all accounting to be court supervised.
