Latin pop hunk Ricky Martin and his former manager ANGELO MEDINA have put their differences behind them and reached a settlement over their lawsuits against each other.
The pair amicably parted ways in September 2003, until the SHE BANGS heart-throb filed a $2.5 million (GBP1.3 million) lawsuit in New York in February (04) against Medina for "unearned management commissions through the assertion of claims for unjust enrichment, breach of agreement and breach of fiduciary duty".
In March (04) Medina responded with a $63.6 million (GBP35 million) countersuit against his former protege in a Puerto Rican court, accusing the singer of breach of contract, unjust enrichment and pain and suffering.
In Puerto Rican capital San Juan on Wednesday (13OCT04), Superior Judge OSCAR DAVILA announced the pair had come to a confidential agreements, as they hugged each other during a news conference.
Martin says, "It was a horrible thing. It was totally exhausting. I don't wish it on anyone."
In third person, the Grammy winning star said he did not regret the lawsuit: "Ricky Martin has no regrets. Each step he takes, he takes with conviction."
Medina enthused about his former star, saying Martin "can always count on me".
He explains, "It has been emotional but this is finally over. You have highs and lows in life and you come out of them stronger."15/10/2004 13:27
