The Livin' La Vida Loca hitmaker's remarks come a day after Colombian star J Balvin cancelled his Miss USA performance in July (15) after learning of Trump's disparaging speech, and hours after pageant co-hosts Roselyn Sanchez and Cristian De La Fuente quit the show.

In a message on Twitter.com, he writes (in Spanish), "There's much hatred and ignorance in your heart @realDonaldTrump #LatinosUnidos."

Trump's ill-advised remarks about immigration also prompted the bosses of Spanish-language TV network Univision to pull their coverage of the Miss Universe Organization's pageants.

The property tycoon upset critics during his presidential campaign launch, when he told supporters, "The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems. When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best... They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

"It's coming from more than Mexico. It's coming from all over South and Latin America, and it's coming probably - probably - from the Middle East."
