Pop singer Rita Ora marked her full foray into fashion as she became the final, dazzling model to close DKNY's New York Fashion Week show. The 22 year-old has become the new face of the fashion brand, taking over from best friend and now fellow model, Cara Delevingne.

The DKNY show audience were teased with what seemed like a final walk from American supermodel Karlie Kloss before the sound system began pumping out The Beastie Boys' 'Fight For Your Right' and Ora emerged wearing a black neoprene skater skirt and a short T-shirt with the brand's insignia emblazoned all over it. She looked every inch at home as she strutted her stuff in lace-up heels against a true New York backdrop of graffiti, scaffolding and a yellow taxi.

The 'Shine Ya Light' pop singer looked as edgy as ever, with her trademark bleach blonde hair and red lipstick. She walked confidently, as if this wasn't her first official catwalk experience, though this comes as little surprise to her fans who recognise her for her bold style choices and Gwen Stefani-like influence of Marilyn Monroe meets street fashion.

DKNY's show last night (8th September) attracted audience members that included Kelly Osbourne, Red Hot Chili Pepper's frontman Anthony Kiedis and US actresses Bella Thorne and Holland Roden. Many social network-savvy attendees took to Twitter as soon as Kloss had finished her catwalk slot with news site Fashionista tweeting "The one and only @karliekloss closing @dkny #dkny" before they were surprised by Ora's loud and proud display.

Judging by Ora's tweets from the night, she had a whale of a time, thanking her friend Karlie Kloss for the catwalk tips: Yipeeeeeee thanks @karliekloss on the tips it all went out the window!!!," she tweeted, clearly on a high. "Donna Karen your amazing. Closing the show for you was an honour THANK YOU! [sic]" she tweeted to the brand's creator along with an F-row shot of Rita colly marching her way down the catwalk.

Introduced into the world of high fashion by her "wifey" Cara Delevingne, we're sure to be seeing a lot more of Ms. Ora now she's had a taste of the catwalk glamour - and clearly loved it.
