Robbie Williams helped to ensure that the 2018 World Cup in Russia opened with a bang after he was seen to raise his middle finger at the camera during his performance at the opening ceremony.

The 44 year old English singer was chosen by FIFA to take part in the grand opening of the 2018 World Cup before the tournament’s first match in Moscow on Thursday night (June 14th) – surprisingly, given that Williams was censured by the Russian government just a few years ago for stereotyping the country in his track ‘Party Like A Russian’.

He performed a medley of some of his biggest hits, including ‘Angels’ and ‘Let Me Entertain You’, during the show, but during a rendition of ‘Rock DJ’ he seemed to spot a TV camera and then gestured to it with his middle finger up at it while smiling for a fleeting moment.

Robbie Williams has just been announced to perform at the forthcoming World Cup opening ceremony, taking place at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium. According to The Sun, a group of peacocks keep wandering away from Holland Park onto their street and attacking their expensive cars. Most of the residents have luxury motors, and Robbie's BMW has received thousands of pounds worth of damage from the peacocks, who keep viciously pecking the vehicles.

‘Angels’, which was an enormous hit in 1997 and is a karaoke classic and radio station staple to this day, is one of those songs that virtually everybody has attempted to sing while drunk. But that’s part of the reason why Williams is considering dropping it – because he’s struggling to maintain his cool while he sings it.

Having cancelled a section of his tour recently, Robbie Williams has revealed that he made the decision because he had received some “very worrying” test results that saw him get admitted to intensive care in hospital.

Pop favourite Robbie Williams has accidentally landed himself in a spot of bother after flirting with a fan who turned out to be just fifteen years old during a recent gig in Australia.

Former Take That star and evergreen solo artist Williams, 41, was performing in Brisbane on Saturday night (October 17th) as part of his extensive ‘Let Me Entertain You Tour’, which is currently on its final leg in Australia and New Zealand.
