Robert Pattinson has sent Reese Witherspoon some glow-in-the-dark exercise clothes.

The British actor was concerned after hearing his 'Water For Elephants' co-star had been hit by a car while out jogging, so splashed out on a special gift to ensure she doesn't suffer the same fate again.

The parcel contained reflective vests, wrist bands, tennis shoes and a hat - all of which were designed by Stella Mccartney - and was sent to the actress' house along with a note wishing her a speedy recovery.

A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Reese was very touched by Rob's gesture.

"She intends to keep running and the gear will come in very handy when it's dark outside."

Reese was not seriously injured when struck by an 84-year-old driver in Santa Monica last month, and decided against pursuing the incident in court.

A source said afterwards: "The incident is being treated as an accident. The driver was not given an alcohol test at the accident scene and typically she would receive a fine and a point on her driving license as it is considered a moving violation."

Reese - who recently married Hollywood agent Jim Toth - has been resting at home since the accident.
