The rockstar will release his new record in October 2015.
After returning to the top of the charts with 'Time' in 2013, Rod Stewart has announced another new album to come this Autumn. 'Another Country' has been completed, and comes along with the lead single entitled 'Love Is' (a freebie with all pre-orders).
Rod Stewart returns with a brand new album, 'Another Country'
The rock icon announced on Twitter today that he had become 'a proud father to another... album', which will hit shelves this October. 'Another Country' has been co-produced by his frequent collaborator Kevin Savigar and comes just two years after his last release 'Time'; an album which saw him top the UK charts for the first time since 1976's 'A Night On The Town'. Now, not only is he back with new material, but also a newfound confidence.

Ian McLagan was known for his skills on the organ and keyboard.
Ian McLagan, the keyboard board with the Small Faces and later with the Faces, has died aged 69 following complications from a stroke suffered earlier this week. Known as 'Mac', McLagan played on numerous classic Small Faces tracks including 'Lazy Sunday' and 'Itchycoo'.
Ian McLagan died unexpectedly this week

A fan is suing Rod Stewart for injuries sustained at a concert.
Oh dear Rod Stewart! A fan is suing the aging crooner over injuries he received whilst attending a concert in 2012 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
Looks like Rod's aim was off that night
According to Reuters, Californian electrician Mostafa Kashe is suing Stewart for $10,000 plus attorney fees following a broken nose he received when Rod kicked a football into the audience at his concert. A keen football fan (he supports Celtic and Manchested United), this is apparently something Stewart does on quite a regular basis, but this time it didn't go down so well. Kashe was treated for his injuries at the venue, but claims he has suffered lasting physical and mental damage, as well as having to cut short a family holiday and miss work as a result of his injury, and having a permanently impaired sense of smell.

Bonnie Schiffman claims the singer copied a photographed she originally took in 1981 to use as the central image of his comeback tour.
Veteran rocker Rod Stewart is being sued by a celebrity photographer who claims the star ‘ripped off’ one of her images to use in the promotion of his comeback tour.

Bonnie Schiffman photographed Stewart in 1981 and one of her images was later used as the cover of his 1989 Storyteller album. But according to the lawsuit filled on Thursday in Los Angeles by Schiffman, the image being used to advertise the singer’s comeback tour and Las Vegas residency is an “unmistakable copy” of her 1981 photograph and is impermissible without her authorisation.

Sir Elton John receives the first ever Brit Icon award as well returning to the stage for the first time post surgery.
Sir Elton John was awarded with the inaugural Brit Icon award for having a 'lasting impact' on British Culture. The British legend marked this award by performing at London's Palladium theatre last night which also marked his return to the stage after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix.
According to the BBC, Rod Stewart was the one who presented the prize to Sir Elton and described him as "the second best rock singer ever". Stewart was among a long list of a-list stars to congratulate Sir Elton at the venue as the likes of Liz Hurley, Lulu and Gary Barlow were in attendance, with Gary tweeting "Just watched Elton John talk and perform for 2hours at the Palladium ! Inspirational ! #britsiconaward".
Sir Elton, now fully recovered from the surgery, played his greatest hits' set and according to NME Rod Stewart joined him towards the end and performed in a duet which included the hits "Sad Songs (Say So Much)' and songs from John's album 'Breaking Hearts'.
The legendary musician became the first honouree of new award during the one-off London Palladium show
There's a new award in town, one that honours those musicians who have made the greatest, most lasting contribution to music in the modern era; the Brits Icon Award. The first ever Icon to be handed out was done so during a spectacular and star-studded show at London's Palladium Theatre, during which the first honouree of the coveted award played a hit-filled set to his adoring peers. That person; Sir Elton John.
Sir Elton became the first honouree of the new award
The gala concert, his first since undergoing surgery for appendicitis earlier this year, saw Elton presented the award by his friend Rod Stewart in front of a celebrity-filled audience that also included Liz Hurley, Lulu, former-President Bill Clinton, Ringo Starr, Gary Barlow and many more. The singing icon received a standing ovation as he took to the stage to collect his award, having been introduced by Stewart, who cheekily referred to the man of the hour as "the second-best rock singer ever."

No one in the Stone's camp knows anything about it.
The list of artists supposedly boycotting Florida because of the controversial Stand Your Ground law reads like a who’s who of modern music. Usher, Rod Stewart, Madonna, Kanye West, Rihanna, R. Kelly, Wale, Jay Z, and the Rolling Stones are all on it, but are the latter really in the boycott club?
The Stones performing in Hyde Park
A spokeswoman for the Rolling Stones, she said she was "not aware of this," according to Mother Jones, who contacted her, and actually broke the news to her. Representatives for the band in the UK added: "nobody's heard anything about this,” which suggests the band really aren’t involved in Stevie Wonder’s campaign against the Stand Your Ground Law, which is thought to have been a key factor in George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the Trayvon Martin case.
Jay-Z scored his first UK No.1 with Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Incredibly, Jay-Z has landed his first ever UK number one album, with Magna Carta Holy Grail storming the chart and holding off Mumford & Sons and Rod Stewart. The rapper's previous highest-charting album was the 2011 collaborate effort with Kanye West, Watch the Throne, which entered at No.3.
Holy Grail managed to hold off Mumford & Sons' Babel despite a surge in sales following the group's triumphant headlining show at the Glastonbury Festival. Jay-Z also comfortably outsold Rod Stewart's number-one album Time. Passenger took the third spot with All The Little Light, with Canadian crooner Michael Buble dropped two places to No.4 with To Be Loved.
Jay-Z has been performing in the UK this weekend, headlining the second night of the Wireless music festival at the Queen Elizabeth Park on the former Olympics site. "I feel the love tonight," Jay-Z, 43, told the crowd, "You've been an incredible audience tonight." The rapper - still one of the biggest hip-hop acts in the world - was joined by Timberlake during the encore for a rendition of Holy Grail.

After taking steroids throughout the late 1980s to help with his vocal chords, Rod Stewart has revealed that his penis shrunk - although his wife doesn't mind all that much.
Penny Lancaster, the wife of rock legend Rod Stewart, has chosen to describe his manhood as ''pretty, but not large.'' Stewart, 68, recently revealed that his penis shrunk due to a steroid addiction in the late 1980s. He has also revealed that his 42-year-old wife doesn't mind the size, as the couple have fun in the bedroom often enough. Stewart explained that: ''My wife says it's pretty, but not large. But we do it two to three times a week. When you've got two small kids like us we have got to fit it in between the children.''
Stewart and Lancaster have two sons together - Alistair and Aiden - and Stewart has gone on to reveal that he was due to make a plaster cast of his member, but decided against it in the 1970s when he saw how big Jimi Hendrix's mould was. He told the story to 'The Daily Star', saying that: ''I remember it like it was yesterday. When I saw Jimi's I pulled my trousers back on and left sheepishly.''

Modesty isn't one of Stewart's strong suits, apparently.
The Rolling Stones might have gotten a roaring reception at Glastonbury last weekend, but Rod Stewart thinks it could have been better. Specifinally, with him fronting. Or rather, Stewart is apparently thinking of drafting Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood for his own band, The Faces, should Jagger ever decide to hang up his mic. In a recent RadioTimes interview, the singer said: “I’d like to return with The Faces. Ronnie and I talk about it, and when the Stones finish – Mick is several years older than me – we’ll have a window of opportunity, if we’re not on Zimmers.”
At 68, the singer isn't stopping anytime soon.
Stewart sounds like he’s pulling everyone’s leg with this one, but of course, you never know. For now though, the Stones are going strong, Jagger included. So the chances of Stewart replacing him? Slim to none. Yet the singer thinks his talent definitely gives him a bit of an edge: “Mick’s a fine blues singer – but technically not as good as me,” he commented. “He’s made the best of what he’s got. But I don’t think he could do standards – he may not want to.”

Veteran rocker last hit top spot in 1979, but how long can he last at the top?
Who’d have thought it! Not us obviously, otherwise we wouldn’t have started this news story like that, but Rod Stewart is back on top of the UK Album Charts! Unbelievable!
The Rodster hasn’t graced the highest position that record sales can buy in the UK in 34 years, but that all changed at the weekend as his latest album, Time, managed to trounce the competition and end up at the top of the charts. It’s unlikely to hold on, given that Daft Punk’s comeback album Random Access Memories is released in the country today, and 'Get Lucky' still tops the singles chart. However Rod should be pretty delighted; the last time he made the UK number one spot was for his Greatest Hits Vol. 1 compilation back in 1979! We suppose that in the year where fellow 1970’s mainstay David Bowie also returned to the top of the UK charts, nothing is impossible for the stars of yesteryear.
According to The Guardian, Stewart told the Official Charts Company: "Well, knock me down with a feather. Just goes to show there's plenty of songs left in the old fiddle. Thank you!" Meanwhile, Official Chart director Martin Talbot added: "It is a remarkable achievement by Rod to reach a total of 15 No 1s. He is truly a legend of the Official Singles and Official Album charts."

Plus, Taylor Swift scoops eight Billboard Awards and Stevie Wonder closes Hangout in style in our weekly round-up...
This Week In Albums... There was only album anyone was really talking about wasn't there? Daft Punk's much anticipated fourth LP Random Access Memories was streamed early after it leaked on the internet allowing the world's media their chance to get in quick with their gut-check reactions. Our man Joe Wilde was a little more reflective in his assessments though, and found much to love about the French duo's comeback - even if hasn't ended up being the classic that so many people were hoping for. He wrote: "Guy-Manuel and Thomas are perfectionists in every sense, and whilst the album itself isn't a perfect listen, it is still a thoroughly rewarding and worthwhile one; and what more could we and the robots have asked for?"
There were some other much-vaunted French types releasing their comeback album this Spring too; it's a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it for Phoenix. Hoewever that means we once again get an LP of intelligent pop that's as catchy as it is inventive. Jim Pusey found it to be an enjoyable listen, although he felt it lacked something that its mainstream-breaking predecessor Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix had; he commented "There's much here to like, but it lacks some of the charm that made Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix quite so endearing."
The new album knocks Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heartclub Band from the number two spot and is less than a million sales away from knocking Queen from the top spot.
Abba's greatest hits collection, Gold, edged past the The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band this weekend to become the second highest selling album in UK history. The band have now sold over 5.1million copies of their greatest hits album, with the Official Charts Company indicating over the weekend that the album has surpassed Sgt. Pepper's by 15,000 sales.
The album now only sits behind another best of collection, Queen's Greatest Hits, which has so far sold 5.9million copies. The rest of the top five consists of Adele’s 21, which is 4th having sold 4.6million copies, with Oasis’ 1995 sophomore release (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? completing the top five, selling slightly less than Adele. Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, ABBA founder and songwriter Björn Ulvaeus spoke of his shock at the achievement, saying, 'It’s feels unreal - outselling the greatest record of all time!'
Björn Ulvaeus couldn't believe the news of Gold's success
The Scottish singer was also joined by fellow shock entrants Gabrielle Aplin and Agnetha Faltskog
Singer Rod Stewart is currently re-living the glory years of his career after seeing his latest album, Time, shoot to the top of the UK Album Chart this Sunday (May 19); his first to reach the coveted position since his 1979 Greatest Hits collection.
Stewart wasn't the only 70's star to dart up the album chart with a new release either, as former Abba singer Agnetha Faltskog's return to music saw the singer's A album climb tho number 6.
The last number one single for the singer came thirty years ago, when 1983's 'Baby Jane' reached the top of the charts and following the fantastic success of his album, now looks as goood a time as ever for the singer to end that drought too. Speaking about the success of his album, the singer told reporters that he was 'very proud' of the achievement, adding that he thanks a long life of experience and God for his enduring success. He said; 'I've lived a wonderful life and when I was putting the book [his autobiography] together it inspired many of the songs. If there's anything that God gave, and some people may disagree, he gave me a tremendous vehicle in my voice. It's just very unique, so I was just lucky to be given this voice.'
May will see some big-hitters display their voices
It’s not just wannabe talents performing on The Voice, you know, bona fide singers hit the stage too. Next up, in May, arrive Rod Steward, T.I and Cee Lo Green to show the contestants how it’s done. Lady Antebellum, Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams will also perform in May.
Green has been a part of The Voice for a while now, having coached on it for the first three seasons. He’s just finished his stint in the desert, performing in Loberace in Las Vegas, and will hit the crowd with Only You from his forthcoming new solo album Girl Power, set for a late 2013 release. Stewart and Green will perform on the May 8 episode, while Grammy-winning country-pop trio Lady Antebellum will promote their forthcoming album "Golden" on the May 14 episode. Pharrell Williams and rapper T.I. will all perform on the May 14 episode. Rod Stewart has been rumoured to judge on a number of talent shows, so his proximity to the show might fuel those rumours even more.
Stewart has been hanging out with teen pop starlet Harry Styles recently. Probably not through choice, though - the one direction star was getting close and friendly with his daughter, Kimberly Stewart, 33. The pair even spent the night together and Styles was seen buying coffee for all three of them the next morning.

The Voice have a stellar line-up of big name performers booked for the season
The producers of The Voice USA have arranged a varied line-up of music stars to perform on the show in the coming weeks, Reuters reports. Amongst them is Rod Stewart, who will be performing music from ‘Time,’ his first album of original material in over 10 years. He is scheduled to appear on the show on May 10, according to the report and he will be joined by Cee-Lo Green – formerly a judge on the show. Green is expected to perform his new song ‘Only You.’
On May 14, the show’s organisers have lined up a performance from Lady Antebellum. The Grammy award winners are currently promoting their album Golden and have been invited onto the show; currently one of US TV’s prime spots for promoting artists’ new material. The pop singer Robin Thicke will also be making an appearance on the same show as Lady Antebellum, as will rapper T.I. and singer / producer Pharrell, who recently guested on Daft Punk’s comeback track Get Lucky. The show averages around 14 million viewers across the two weekly shows.
The Voice is currently in its fourth season in the US, having recently drafted in Shakira and Usher to replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. The season will draw to a close in June, when a winner will be chosen and rewarded with a recording contract.

Ah, the Christmas album. Everyone thinks they know what Christmas is about; it's about massive presents and force feeding, but really, in its essence, the festive season is about hurriedly compiled albums chocked with bad covers and even worse originals. To help organize proceedings, we're taken the liberty of formulating come handy categorisations that best describe the concept of Christmas Album. Enjoy.
The Creepy: Merry Christmas, Baby by Rod Stewart (2012) - Classics by the gruff voiced classic songster. It includes collaborations with: David Foster, Cee Lo Green, Mary J. Blige, and Chris Botti. You can grab it for $11.88, but why do that when you can get the special edition for $39.99!? Ooh Merry Christmas, Baby.
The Youthful: Now That's What I Call Today's Christmas! by Now Today's Christmas, Justin Bieber, Train, Coldplay and Norah Jones. Young people don't care about Cliff Richard and Rod Stewart, they like ipods, The X-Factor and falling over. This is the album for them!

Taylor Swift’s latest album Red has remained steadfast at the top of the Billboard albums chart for a second week. Swift’s popularity appears to know no bounds, as she has made a successful and seamless transition from her country roots into the pop arena. She seems equally at home at the Grand Ole Opry as she does wooing a crowd of teenagers at an MTV Awards event. This dual appeal has translated nicely into CD sales for Swift, who shifted 344,000 copies of Red in the last week in the United States.
The rapper Meek Mill made a seriously impressive dent in the chars with his major label debut, Dreams and Nightmares, and sold approximately 165,000, according to MTV News (sourced from Nielsen Soundscan). It may be a long way off Swift’s total, but it still landed him the number two slot, in a week where sales were affected by Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast of America. The previous week, it had been another rapper snapping at Taylor’s heels (albeit from a distance!). This week, Kendrick Lamar has slipped down to number five with good kid, m.A.A.d. City, making room for Rod Stewart’s Christmas album Merry Christmas Baby.
Mumford & Sons, who impressed with their initial ascent to the top of the US charts with Babel, have dropped to number seven with sales of 44,000. We’re predicting a third week at the top for Taylor; this week’s releases seem to contain little in the way of a threat to the 23 year-old global star.
