Director Roman Polanski Will Learn Whether Polish Authorities Will Extradite Him To The U.s. At The End Of October (15).
The Rosemary's Baby filmmaker has been a wanted man by U.S. authorities ever since he fled to Europe in 1978 on the eve of sentencing for having unlawful sex with a minor at a Hollywood party.
Prosecutors have made multiple requests over the years to have the moviemaker extradited back to America, so he can be punished for the crime, which he pleaded guilty to, but they were all denied.
They appealed to Polish officials for a second time in January (15), and after multiple delays, judges set 22 September (15) as the deadline for their decision.
However, during Tuesday's (22Sep15) hearing, the case was adjourned once more and now the lawmakers are scheduled to reveal their ruling on 30 October (15).
Polanski holds joint French and Polish citizenship and has homes in both Paris and Krakow.
