Actress Rosie Perez has thanked her fans for their support after returning to her seat as a panellist on U.S. talk show The View for the first time in 2015.

The White Men Can't Jump star took some time away from the programme to focus on rehearsals for her new Broadway play Fish in the Dark, but her absence sparked rumours suggesting she had been fired from her daytime Tv job, just four months after making her debut as a co-host.

Her fellow presenters Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg repeatedly dismissed the reports on air, and Perez proved she was still part of The View on Tuesday (03Feb15), when she made her comeback.

Goldberg celebrated her return by singing her pal's name at the top of the show, before asking her about the play's first night of previews on Monday (02Feb15).

Smiling broadly, Perez replied, "It's amazing! It was perfect. We got a standing ovation."

She then added, "Girl, I am feeling fabulous. I am very happy to be back, and let me just say, 'Mi gente, gracias (My people, thank you).'"
