American entertainer RuPaul has revealed that he is now a newlywed, having recently tied the knot with his boyfriend of 23 years, Georges LeBar, earlier this year.

The 56 year TV host and drag queen, who has hosted his eponymous fashion show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ for the last eight years on VH1, got married to LeBar, his partner since way back in 1994, on their 23rd anniversary in January.

He announced the happy news on Wednesday (March 15th) on ‘Hollywood Today Live’, saying that he had been married for two months to LeBar, who runs a 60,000 acre farm that straddles Wyoming and South Dakota and apparently “couldn’t care less” about the showbiz world.

“I’ve never said this on television before,” he said, “but we are married. We got married on our 23rd [anniversary]. I met him on the dance floor at Limelight [club in New York City] in 1994, on his birthday. So we got married on his birthday, the anniversary of when we met, this year — in January.”

However, despite the many years of domesticity they’ve shared together, it doesn’t seem as if the glamorous RuPaul’s about to drop everything and move to herd cattle any time soon.

“Most of the time, he’s on the ranch… but he doesn’t want me to come there,” he revealed, saying they prefer to go to more upmarket places like Paris and Maui when they spend time together. He continued, with some relief, “God bless you, Wyoming, but it’s very boring, and it’s the most isolated place on earth.”

RuPaul appeared on the daytime show in order to promote the upcoming series of Emmy-winning ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, which returns on March 24th.
