Margaret Thatcher Dead At 87: Harry Styles (Of All People) Lead Tributes

Margaret Thatcher Harry Styles Imogen Thomas Katherine Jenkins Rylan Clark One Direction

A website titled "Is Margaret Thatcher Dead?" has received a slew of criticism in recent years for its tasteless daily updates of whether or not the Baroness had passed away. Nevertheless, the website finally showed a huge YES today as reports came in that the former Prime Minister died from a stroke. She was the first female prime minister when she entered Downing Street in 1979.

Though the intellectuals, historians and biographers are having their say on Thatcher's legacy, the celebrities were also weighing in on her passing - among them, Harry Styles. The One Direction star came out as a Labour supporter last year, though he paid tribute to the former Tory leader in a tweeting this morning, saying, "RIP Baroness Thatcher.x" He and his One Direction pals buddied up with Prime Minister David Cameron for their Comic Relief campaign earlier this year.

Geri Halliwell, who has made no secret of her love for Thatcher, was another celebrity to pay tribute, saying, "Thinking of our 1st Lady of girl power ,Margaret Thatcher , a green grocer's daughter who taught me any thing is possible...x"

Finally, A Reality Show Win For Rylan Clark As He Takes The Big Brother Crown

Rylan Clark Celebrity Big Brother

If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. Rylan Clark may not have the talent to write timeless lyrics like that, or even win The X-Factor, but he proved he had what it takes to entertain Celebrity Big Brother views to finally win a reality show.

Speaking to host Brian Dowling, Clark said: "Honestly, through the past year, people have been picking up the phone for me and I really appreciate it." He's not wrong, but given that he's appeared in two high-profile shows, it's not the greatest of achievements. But fair play to Rylan, after the disappointment of an X-Factor boot out, it must have taken a lot to thrust himself back into the public eye. Perhaps a lot of money, we don't know. "They hated me three months ago. I've been the biggest fan of Big Brother." And Speaking about his nemesis Speidi, he said: 'I don't have any ties to Heidi and Spencer, but they're a genuine couple. I wish them the best of luck in life. They are absolutely made for each other.

"The reason I came on this show is to show people who got me wrong. You can call me whatever you want, but don't ever call me fake," he added. "One thing they gave me in the house was a headache."

Ofcom Rules X Factor Broke Programming Rules With Corinthia Hotel

James Arthur Rylan Clark The X Factor

x factor has come under fire from Ofcom regulators for the excessive appearance of the ultra-posh Corinthia Hotel overlooking the Thames, reports the Guardian.

X Factor producers, by showing the hotel repeatedly, gave it 'undue prominence' which is in breach of programming in the UK. Although the show wasn't paid for its featuring in a couple of episodes, they did receive discounted rates for the contestants to stay there - which undoubtedly was taken gratefully as it's normally £3000 per night!

One episode saw the contestants moving into the Hotel which saw winner James Arthur exclaiming about their rooms, and Rylan Clark (currently a contestant in Celebrity Big Brother) gush over the size and quality of the hotel, saying:  "It's absolutely amazing here ... I've never really seen anything like it to be honest. It's a million miles away from the place I live back home ... Oh my god James, it's massive! There's a phone in the toilet!"

CBB Housemate Heidi Montag Regrets Revealing Surgery Story

Heidi Montag Rylan Clark

Heidi Montag opened up about her regrets on telling the public about her plastic surgery whilst relaxing in a Jacuzzi with Rylan on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

The former 'The Hills' star rose to fame following her 10 surgical procedures that she once had in the space of one day. However, looking back on media reports about her, she wishes that she had been more 'private' about the ops which included rhinoplasty, breast implants, liposuction and chin reduction. 'I kind of wish I'd never talked about it and that I'd kept it more private', she told former 'X Factor' contestant and housemate Rylan Clark whilst winding down in the house hot tub on Monday (January 7th 2013). Rylan seemed very curious about surgeries. 'So you'd had a lot of surgeries?' He asked her. 'Yeah I did, it was just when I was young. I wanted it and I just got a few things done, and then I got a few more things done', she replied.

Despite Rylan's reassuring comments that she looked 'brilliant', Heidi insisted that telling the papers 'backfired' on her and she even lost contact with her mother. 'I didn't talk to my family for two years and I never thought that would happen to me, me and my mum were like best friends growing up', she confessed. She also admitted that TV 'changed' her and reflected that, 'I should have just stood up for myself.'

Paula Hamilton Fails To Endure CBB Task Due To 'Illness'

Celebrity Big Brother Paula Hamilton Rylan Clark Frankie Dettori Tricia Penrose

Paula Hamilton was moved from the unpleasant 'basement' to the luxury house on Channel 5's 'Celebrity Big Brother' after claiming that she was feeling unwell.

The new series of the reality show started last night (January 3rd 2013) with 'X Factor' 2012 contestant Rylan Clark and jockey Frankie Dettori being the first to arrive. They were tasked with deciding which celebrity from each pair that arrived would be cast into the darkness of the basement and which would enjoy the house luxuries. Former Volkswagen model Paula was selected for the basement instead of 'Heartbeat' star Tricia Penrose

However, it was only hours before Paula complained that she was feeling a 'little ill' and was advised to re-enter the main house by the BB doctor. Just how ill she is is uncertain; certainly, she doesn't seem sick enough to have to leave the house, but she has struggled with alcohol dependency for a large chunk of her life, even being turned away from the show in previous years for failing psychiatric tests according to TV psychologist Jo Hemmings who worked on the show when it aired on Channel 4. 'Paula Hamilton - because sending an alcoholic who failed her C4 psych tests three years ago is SUCH a good idea... #cbb', she wrote on Twitter.

Frankie Dettori And Lindsay Lohan: Best Celebrity Big Brother, Ever?

Lindsay Lohan Frankie Dettori Heidi Montag Spencer Pratt Rylan Clark Jim Davidson

We can just imagine Frankie Dettori talking Lindsay Lohan through his epic Gold Cup win on Colour Vision at Royal Ascot last year, or the Hollywood star telling the jockey about her latest film The Canyons. Yep, this is shaping up to be the most bizarre Celebrity Big Brother in history.

The whole thing kicks off tonight (January 3, 2012) and although Chanel 5 have refused to reveal the identities of the stars lined up to appear, friends of Dettori have confirmed to the Daily Telegraph that he will be taking part. Lindsay Lohan has been in London for several days now, seemingly for no good reason.

Hidden By A Towel: Who Was That Celebrity Big Brother Contestant, Then?

Lindsay Lohan Rylan Clark Heidi Montag Spencer Pratt

It seems the producers of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother are masters of disguise! There was no telling who it was being whisked into a London hotel today, because their identity was being hidden with the most cunning of disguises… a towel! Yes, that’s right. All that time and money spent on the show and all they had left in the budget was enough to buy a towel to hide the identity of their contestants. Well, we are in a recession, after all.

The Daily Mail have published snaps of the CBB 2013 contestant being led into the hotel, ahead of the show, which begins tomorrow but the producers have done a good job so far of keeping the details of who’s going in under wraps. Literally, in this case, as they walked in with a towel around them. Rumoured to be taking part though, is Lindsay Lohan, who seems to have arrived in London for no good reason and Rylan the former X Factor contestant, who would bring the “loud, camp and boisterous” factor that host Brian Dowling is craving.

Dowling told new! magazine that he’d love Rylan to be one of the housemates and also revealed that he’s love Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (stars of US reality show The Hills) to be in the house because “they're so crazy. It's like they would do almost anything to get some attention.” They sound like perfect candidates for CBB 2013, then!

Celebrity Big Brother 2013 Rumours Have Started! Could We Stomach Rylan 24 Hours A Day?

Katie Price Rylan Clark Steps Claire Richards Bruce Jones Spencer Pratt Heidi Montag Justin Lee Collins

The rumours have already started for the 2013 series of Celebrity Big Brother.

So who do we think will end up in the house of horror this time around? It feels almost certain that X Factor reject and all round celebrity wannabe Rylan will make an appearance but according to STV, he also wants to be selected to take part in the X Factor tour, which would stop him going on the reality TV show.

He’ll be pretty sad, then, if the other rumour is true and his buddy Katie Price takes up the offer. The former glamour model, who is certainly no stranger to the world of reality TV, is also rumoured to have an offer on the table, as is the former Steps singer Claire Richards. So far, so hellish, right? Other celebs rumoured to have been asked to join the house include Bruce Jones, aka Les Battersby from Coronation Street and the MP Nadine Dorries. Sure though… SURELY Dorries has more sense than to go on yet another reality show so soon? Or will the lure of ‘fame’ (and fortune) prove too much for ego to turn down?

X Factor's Rylan Clark Starts His DayBreak Takeover

Rylan Clark

Rylan Clark finally left the X Factor last weekend, having been booted out after weeks of controversy and almost never getting positive reviews for his performances. However, despite not having the strongest voice in the competition, clearly ITV saw other talents and less than a week after he exited the show they've offered him a job on their morning daily show, 'DayBreak'.

He'll be filling in for Richard Arnold who covers all the showbiz news for the program. "I can't believe it! I only left X Factor a week ago and now I'm joining Lorraine and Aled on the Daybreak sofa." Rylan said, reports the Mirror, "I'm a massive fan of the show and it's going to be so much fun sharing all the showbiz news and gossip with the nation each morning... I'm looking forward to keeping Richard's seat warm while he's swanning off on holiday, but I won't be asking for any dancing tips just yet!"

Richard Arnold congratulated the young singer, in response to Rylan's post, saying: "The wonderful thing about this hurly burly business we call show[biz] is that you know ultimately you will one day be replaced by someone younger, thinner and in this case much taller than you. I wish Rylan all the best in his new role at Daybreak." You can catch him in action from 7:50am on Monday morning (Dec. 3rd) and all next week on ITV1.

Employed! In The Entertainment Industry! Wonders Will Never Cease For Rylan Clark

The X Factor Rylan Clark

Here’s one for the doubters… you all thought you’d seen the last of Rylan, didn’t you, when he got booted off x factor? Well, we’ve got news for you, today (November 30, 2012). There IS life after X Factor after all, for the precisely-bearded Essex babe.

That’s right, folks, Rylan has landed his dream job, just a week after he was kicked off the talent show, for having no discernible… oh, well, it doesn’t matter why he was kicked off the show, what matters now is that he has landed his dream job… well, it might not EXACTLY be his dream job, but it’s a job! In the public eye! What more could Rylan Clark have asked possibly asked for? (that’s a serious question by the way). Rylan will be taking over from Richard Arnold on ITV1’s Daybreak, starting from Monday. Okay, so he’s only doing it for a week, but hey, it’ll keep the Jobcentre off your back for at least a week, eh Rylan?

Richard Arnold decided that he needed to tale a break from presenting the entertainment news on the popular morning show and Rylan was chuffed to be asked to fill his shoes, report Entertainmentwise. “I can't believe it! I only left X Factor a week ago and now I'm joining Lorraine and Aled on the Daybreak sofa! I’m a massive fan of the show and it’s going to be so much fun sharing all the showbiz news and gossip with the nation each morning,” he said. Just don’t get to comfy on that sofa, eh, Rylan?

Robbie Williams To Mentor X Factor Stars (And He's Turning On The Xmas Lights!)

Robbie Williams Gary Barlow Rylan Clark

Robbie Williams is to appear as a guest mentor on X Factor this Saturday (October 27, 2012), before performing live on Sunday night's results show. Robbie, 38, acted as Gary Barlow's sidekick in the judges' house stage last year, though Cheryl Cole took over the role this year.

That hasn't stopped the Take That man getting involved on this year's show, and he'll be offering support and advice to contestants including Rylan Clark, Jade Ellis and Ella Henderson this weekend. Robbie has previously expressed his support for Clark, who has divided audiences on this year's show. Actually, he hasn't divided anyone, he's absolutely dreadful - though is getting votes for the comedy factor, clearly. Last week, Williams tweeted, "TEAM RYLAN ALL THE WAY VOTE RYLAN," with Barlow - who walked off the set when Rylan made it through after Week 1 - reacted, "20 years of knowing each other and it's all over in five letters."

Bookmakers are unconvinced that Rylan will be booted out this week, offering around 3/1 on him being given his marching orders. Christopher Maloney is available at similar odds, as is the frankly terrible Kye Sones.

Rylan Clark On His X-Factor Ousting: I Was So Drunk

The X Factor Rylan Clark Lucy Spraggan Gary Barlow

Rylan Clark gave head judge Gary Barlow a reason to despise him that little more this week, after being chucked out of central London hotel The Corinthia for flashing his behind. Joined by partner in crime Lucy Spraggan, the pair ran amok through the swanky residence before being given their marching orders by managers.

Reflecting on his misdemeanour to Heatworld.com, Clark explained, "Oh god, the hotel were not happy with that kind of press.I'm holed up in a hotel in Wembley for five days. I've got to behave myself," adding, "I can't believe it. I was so drunk, but I said I'd do it and I f*cking did it. The X Factor team warned me not to but they love it really." Rylan has as much chance of winning The X Factor as Matt Cardle has of another No.1 record, though he's firmly established himself as this year's token "crap act that makes it all the way till the end, until audiences get bored." His last performance saw him parade down a catwalk flanked by 'fashion pandas.

Yorkshire-born Ella Henderson is the odds-on favourite to win this year's show. She has been described as the best X Factor vocalist since Leona Lewis.

The X Factor's Rylan Clark And Lucy Spraggan “Kicked Out” Of Posh London Hotel.

Gary Barlow Rylan Clark Lucy Spraggan

After a night out at London's 'G.A.Y.', Lucy Spraggan and Rylan Clark were seen stumbling around in the West End, outside their very posh hotel. With the reputation of the hotel at stake, the pair were kicked out and relegated to a far less impressive establishment not far from their original abode.

Spraggan's behaviour can be somewhat forgiven, not only due to her lovable demeanour, but because those kinds of antics (and many others besides) are what fuelled the song that first made everyone fall for the northern singer-songwriter in her first X-Factor audition. She gave a rendition of her own song 'Last Night' which includes lyrics absolutely apt for the tumultuous night that has been reported nationwide: “Last night I called you a loser, I think that was after flaming sambuca, I shouted at you 'do me a favor' and that's when I fell off the pavement.”

However Rylan's behaviour, like his presence in the show, is far less endearing, and he knows it. “Oh God, the hotel were not happy with that kind of press,” he said, “I’m holed up in a hotel in Wembley for five days. I’ve got to behave myself.” However, he's under the impression that the team at X-Factor are enjoying his actions. "The X Factor team warned me not to but they love it really.” Really? So far Gary Barlow has been fairly scathing of Rylan. Although MTV quotes Rylan saying “To be perfectly honest, Gary ain't really of concern to me in the slightest. Some things I do think he goes a bit far with.”

Rylan Clark And Lucy Spraggan Disciplined For Drunken Debauchery

The X Factor Rylan Clark Lucy Spraggan Louis Walsh Gary Barlow

Are Rylan Clark and Lucy Spraggan taking their time on X Factor seriously?

It certainly didn’t seem that way in the early hours of Monday morning when they were still out partying, according to the Evening Standard. Rylan was at the centre of The X Factor controversy last week when Louis Walsh chose to take the vote to deadlock, when it looked for a moment that he had chosen Carolynne Poole to stay in the contest. Rylan stayed, despite – by his own admission – hardly being the strongest singer in the contest. And he seems to be doing whatever he can to make sure he stays in the headlines until his number’s up on the show (which, if Gary Barlow has anything to do with it, will be very soon indeed).

Neither Rylan nor Lucy seem to be terribly comfortable with the format of the X Factor live shows; Lucy writes her own songs and develops a ‘socially awkward rabbit caught in about a thousand sets of headlights’ when anyone prises her guitar away from her and the camper-than-thou Rylan must surely have exhausted all of his tactics for distracting everyone from the fact that he can’t actually sing. And now, they both seem to be getting all Frankie Coccozza on us. This surely won’t go down well with the X Factor judges.

Fix Scandal On X Factor As Rylan Is Saved From The Chop

The X Factor Rylan Clark Frankie Cocozza

X-Factor judge Louis Walsh is now at the centre of a fix scandal after he was seen talking furiously to a member of the show’s staff while hopeful Carolynne Poole was performing in the sing-off.

According to The Metro, this person was executive producer Richard Holloway, which has led to speculation Louis was told to send the vote to deadlock in a bid to keep Rylan Clark on the show. “Live from the audience at #xfactor Louis saying to Tulisa he was told to take it to DEADLOCK.” said a tweet from an audience member. “Fix!” the masses have cried. “I’m pretty sure The X Factor just showed the whole country how set up it is. Not that we didn’t know that anyway. The producers f*cked it” tweeted the erstwhile X-Factor bad-boy Frankie Cocozza.

It hasn’t been a sterling week for ITV’s flagship talent show; in addition to the ‘fix’ claims, many were angry at the decision to open the phone lines before the acts had even sung. ITV told The Mirror: “This is a hugely positive change to The X Factor voting format to meet the changing needs and behaviour of our highly engaged viewers.” But viewers have been moved to label the show “money hungry” as the animosity continues. The X-Factor hey? It never fails to make the headlines.

X Factor Death Threats Made Nicole Scherzinger Hide In Dressing Room

Nicole Scherzinger Gary Barlow Rylan Clark The X Factor The X Factor USA

Death threats aimed at X Factor judge, Nicole Scherzinger, caused the former pussycat doll to hide in her dressing room, and the abuse received by act Rylan Clark has brought it all back.

In an exclusive with The Metro, Scherzinger explained: "It breaks my heart. Last year, I had death threats on The X Factor USA. It kind of ruined me. I told them (the producers) I didn't wanna leave my room." And as if that wasn't bad enough, the 34-year old's act on the UK The X Factor, Rylan Clark, has also been the subject of some abuse: "It really frightened and scared me when I got death threats. It upsets me to hear that Rylan had to go through that... to read some of the comments that he has had," explained the 34-year-old pop star. "I didn't know people could conjure up such thoughts... so hateful," she added. "I just have to say a prayer for people like that. It's not positive. These are just ignorant, uneducated people."

Gary Barlow, one of the key judges on the show, is also critical of Clark, but not in the weird, abusive way in which some members of the public have been. He tends to offer constructive criticism, but an increasingly confident Scherzinger is ready to take him on. "It ain't nothing but a chicken wing, I believe in Rylan," she said.
