They’re heeeerrrre... those pesky poltergeists that love to steal children and scare adults are back in this modern reboot of the 1982 horror classic, Poltergeist.

Producer Sam Rami, of Spiderman directing fame, has teamed up with director Gil Kenan from Monster House to guide the unsuspecting Bowen family through a succession of horrors after stepping into their new house, unfortunately built on an ancient burial ground.

As the gravity of their really, really bad new house choice starts to sink in, the Bowens realise that they are not battling vengeful spirits but actually have to take on a horrific poltergeist.

While seeking help from a paranormal expert, the evil thing only serves to get stronger as it starts to discover everyone’s true fear and use it against them in ways they could never have imagined.

The original film was a worldwide hit, making it to number 80 on Bravo’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments and widely considered to be one of the best films of its year.

This remake starring Sam Rockwell as head of the family Eric and Rosemarie DeWitt as mum Amy has a lot to live up to but, if the trailer is any indication, it may possibly scare everyone just enough to pip its predecessor to first place.
