Sam Rockwell considers himself the perfect choice to play a womanising scam artist in new movie CHOKE - because he boasts a seedy past himself.
The single actor plays Vincent Mancini in the movie adaptation of Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk's novel of the same name.
Mancini visits sex addiction groups to pick up women and makes money by pretending to choke in restaurants, and then conning the good samaritans who 'save' him out of money.
Rockwell reveals he researched the role by visiting therapy sessions - but was able to draw on some of his own experiences.
He tells the New York Post, "Yeah, I went to a few sex addiction meetings. (But) I've had my own history - I've been to prostitutes and massage parlours and stuff. Back in the old days. So I understand the mindset a little."
