Congratulations are in order for Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry who tied the knot on Sunday in a very private ceremony. This cool couple are one that we just can’t help feeling over the moon for, I mean Sara is Darlene from Roseanne (or Lesley Winkle from the Big Bang Theory) and Linda gave us a 90s hit What's Up and then wrote Christina Aguilera's Beautiful. In celebration of their union let's look back at the couple's journey to the altar.

We first became aware of Sara Gilbert as Darlene Connor, Roseanne’s tomboy daughter from 1988 to 1997. During her 9 season stint on the show, brainy Sara even managed to fit in the time to study art at Yale University. While her role as Darlene kept her in the memory of 90s tv audiences she went on to take various tv guest spots as we'll as a few small film roles, perhaps most memorably as the girl who bonds with Dick over Green Day in High Fidelity. She then landed the recurring role of Leslie Winkle on CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory alongside her former boyfriend and Roseanne co-star Johnny Galeckii. Winkler is notable for perhaps being the only character in the show who might just be smarter than Sheldon Cooper. Currently Gilbert hosts the NBC daytime chat show The Talk which she created and also serves as executive producer of.

Also finding fame in the early 90s, Linda Perry started off as the front woman of 4 Non Blondes, a band best remembered for their 1993 hit What’s Up. After leaving the band a year after the single’s success she embarked on a solo career, releasing two albums to limited commercial success. She then found her footing as songwriter, first working on Pink’s Missundaztood album and then penning the Christina Aguilera hit Beautiful. Since then perry has gone on to work with artists such as Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, Enrique Iglesias and Lisa Marie Presley.

Gilbert only came out publicly as a lesbian in 2010 when promoting the debut of her show The Talk. Her sexuality was however well known before her admission, as she'd been in a relationship with TV producer Allison Adler from since 2001. The couple broke up in 2011 but have two children together, a son born to Adler and a daughter born to Gilbert, which they now share custody of.
