Stormy Weather Continues On 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Premiere

The premiere of season 10 of 'Grey's Anatomy' continued from the previous season's dramatic finale. With Richard lying electrocuted, the team at Seattle Grace Hospital, have to decide if they can save him and who will make the decision.
The premiere of season 10 of Grey's Anatomy aired last night (Thursday 26th September). Last season ended with a storm and this season's premiere continued with it still blustering in the background.

American Pastime Review

Stumbling upon American Pastime soon after watching Ken Burns' epic World War II documentary The War was a happy coincidence. Burns does a great job telling the relatively unknown story of the Japanese-American internment camps, and this movie is a nicely detailed, albeit hokey, fictionalization of one family's experience in such a camp. Burns, who also produced a massive documentary on baseball, would certainly appreciate the film's pivotal baseball subplot.
When war breaks out, the Nomura family is enjoying a happy middle-class life in 1940s L.A. All that changes when the internment order arrives, and soon Mom (Judi Ongg), Dad (Masatoshi Nakamura), older brother Lane (Leonardo Nam), and younger brother Lyle (Aaron Yoo) find themselves in a drafty barracks in the middle of a desert somewhere in the American west. While most everyone tries to adapt with dignity, the volatile Lyle, who has been robbed not only of his baseball scholarship but also his beloved jazz music, simmers with rage. He's even more outraged when he learns that Lane has volunteered to fight with the 442nd division, the famous all Japanese-American unit that went on to glory in European fighting. Why would Lane want to fight for the same army that has machine guns trained on him day and night in the camp?

HBO's cultish sketch-fest Mr. Show, in one of its more brilliant skewers of the entertainment business, did a hysterical mock movie awards show where all categories were for playing mentally challenged adults. The heart of the joke was the way the actors engaged in sickening self-congratulation for their "courageous" role choices.
Cuba Gooding Jr. deserves similar congratulations for his courage, not just for "playing retarded" in the titular role in Radio, but for most of what he's done since he won his own Oscar as jawboning jock Rod Tidwell in 1996's Jerry Maguire, a role in which his only devastating handicap was playing for the Arizona Cardinals. If not true fearlessness, it's hard to imagine what else can explain some of Gooding's recent script-picking decisions - Chill Factor, Instinct, Rat Race, Snow Dogs, and the execrable Boat Trip come to mind. Maybe he can't read.
