Migos' Management Deny Story About Refusing To Appear On 'SNL' With Drag Queens

Katy Perry Saturday Night Live

The management team for hip-hop sensations Migos have denied a story suggesting the rappers refused to perform on-stage with drag queens when they appeared with Katy Perry on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last weekend.

Perry performed her new track ‘Swish Swish’ accompanied by drag queens as back-up dancers when she was on ‘SNL’ last Saturday (May 20th). She also did a rendition of ‘Bon Appetit’, her collaboration with the ‘Bad and Boujee’ rappers Migos, but this time round there were far fewer of the drag queens present on the stage, and those that were only seemed to dance on the very periphery of the stage.

Dwayne Johnson Tom Hanks Saturday Night Live

Dwayne Johnson for President? That sounds like a good idea considering what politics is at the moment. The actor joked about running for office while hosting 'Saturday Night Live' for the fifth time last week, and even brought along Tom Hanks as his 'running mate'.

It was the 'Baywatch' star's fifth time hosting 'Saturday Night Live' which meant that Alec Baldwin had the pleasure of introducing him into the 5-timers club (they have jackets!). While talking about Alec's infamous portrayal of Donald Trump, Dwayne opened up about his future plans.

Chris Pine Saturday Night Live

We're glad to discover that we're not the only ones who get confused with the four Chrises of Hollywood, because Chris Pine took to 'Saturday Night Live' to explain the differences between himself, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth once and for all.

The 'Star Trek' star is getting well and truly tired of people thinking he is in movies that he isn't, just because he shares his first name with some other Hollywood superstars with similar features and ages. He decided to use his stint as host on this weekend's 'Saturday Night Live' (May 6th 2017) to address the issue.

Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins Meets Tim Canterbury In SNL's 'The Office: Middle Earth'

Martin Freeman Saturday Night Live Peter Jackson Ricky Gervais

Martin Freeman's acting career has been just as much an unpredictable a journey as his character Bilbo Baggins' Middle Earth quest in 'The Hobbit' series, but can you imagine his two most iconic roles joining together?

Martin Freeman unites The Office with The Hobbit

That's just what 'Saturday Night Live' did when the British actor took to guest hosting the show on Saturday (December 13th 2014). Before he stormed US film and TV with Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' and the FX series adaptation of the Coen brothers' 'Fargo', Martin Freeman was arguably best known for his likeable role as Tim Canterbury in Ricky Gervais' sitcom 'The Office'. So what happens when you put an ordinary office environment in Middle Earth?

Nicki Minaj Rocks SNL Ahead Of "The Pinkprint" Release

Nicki Minaj Ariana Grande Beyonce Knowles Drake Meek Mill Saturday Night Live

Ok, before you read this article, we have to agree on one thing: this is a no Nicki Minaj hate zone. That means that you have to read it with an open mind and hopefully appreciate the  majesty that is Nicki Minaj’s hair, music, makeup... everything, really.

Minaj performed three songs in all: 'Bed Of Lies' with Skylar Grey and a medley of 'Only' and 'All Things Go'. Through the magic of the internet, you can now watch all of those online. Somewhere. Not here because, you know. Copyright is a thing. NME has clips of the whole thing, though. Don’t say we never did anything for you.

Um... excuse you?

Jim Carrey Does Sia's 'Chandelier' On 'SNL'. Scarily Well.

Jim Carrey Saturday Night Live Sia Kate McKinnon Iggy Azalea Matthew Mcconaughey Jeff Daniels

Jim Carrey's third appearance on 'Saturday Night Live' at the weekend (October 25th 2014) proved to be another eye-wateringly hilarious episode - though we know we'll be stuck with an image of the actor in a nude unitard and blonde wig forever more.

Jim Carrey does 'Chandelier' rather well

Yes, Saturday's 'SNL' highlight was the Halloween themed office party sketch, which saw the 'Dumb and Dumber' star re-enact the video for Sia's Platinum hit 'Chandelier', alongside identically dressed cast member Kate Mckinnon as they attempted to battle it out for the right to wear the costume. The pair performed the energetic dance routine of 'Dance Moms' star Maddie Ziegler who starred in the video, and while it has to be said that it really is a remarkable rendition, Jim Carrey's customary absurd facial expressions made it a truly unmissable show - that and musical guest Iggy Azalea's unexpected cameo.

I-G-G-Y performed three songs – she kicked things off with the monster hit Fancy and later on, brought out Rita Ora for their girl power-themed collab, Black Widow. For Iggy fans, it was kind of a dream come, as Iggy rapped, sung and gyrated her way through the two breakout hits of Summer ’14 alongside her band of dancers, all decked out in hot pants and letterman jackets.

Comedian Darrell Hammond has been unveiled as the new announcer of long-running TV staple ‘Saturday Night Live’ when it returns for its fortieth season at the end of the month. He replaces the late Don Pardo, who had held that responsibility since the show’s debut way back in 1975 and had become an institution of late night television.

Colin Jost Set To Replace The Departing Seth Meyers On SNL's 'Weekend Update'

Seth Meyers Saturday Night Live Lorne Michaels

As Seth Meyers readies himself to assume his seat at the Late Night desk next month, the departing Saturday Night Live regular has left some important gaps on the show that need filling. One of these gaps is on the anchor's chair for the show's 'Weekend Update,' a gap that SNL executive producer and creator Lorne Michaels has managed to get sorted out already.

Colin Jost
Jost has worked on SNL for almost a decade

Head writer and some-time performer Colin Jost is due to assume Meyer's place on the Weekend Update hot seat, beside current anchor Cecily Strong, who began her stint as co-anchor at the start of the current season. Newest 'Saturday Night Live' Castmember Sasheer Zamata May Be Beyoncé's Biggest Fan

Saturday Night Live Beyonce Knowles

Saturday Night Live has hired its first African American female castmember since Maya Rudolph, and she already has plenty of fans. Sasheer Zamata was selected after the show held nationwide auditions, possibly as a response to criticism over their lack of diversity.

Zamata is an accomplished actress and comedian, and it turns out, loves Beyonce — one of the character she will be playing on SNL. The actress recently appeared on an episode of How Was Your Week, a podcast with Julie Klausner, and all she could talk about was the singer. She admits that's all she ever talks about, pretty much.

Ben Affleck Gets To Re-Visit Argo, Again, And Re-Do His Marriage On SNL

Ben Affleck Saturday Night Live Kanye West Fred Armisen Bill Hader

Ben Affleck was a fitting host for the last episode in the current series of Saturday Night Live, with the Oscar winner providing ample personality, humour and taste in an episode where he was very much overshadowed by other cast-members and guests. Before the show the real emphasis was on Kanye West's appearance, with audiences hotly anticipating whether the rapper had any new material to offer, as well as the end of Bill Hader and Fred Armisen's (and apparently Jason Sudeikis) run on the show.

So Affleck needed to do something fresh and original to try and distract the audience before Yeezy's performance and the final few sketches of the departing SNL-ers, unfortunately though Argo jokes just aren't that funny or original anymore. Even Armisen's slightly amusing impersonation of Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad failed to lift the sketch, nor did Affleck insistence that he only made the fake movie in Argo because he’s “long been looking to appear in a movie worse than Gigli.” (Really, we're still making jokes about Gigli).

Kanye West Teases New Material From Inside A Pyramid At Surprise NYC Show [Video]

Kanye West Ben Affleck Saturday Night Live

Earlier this week (May 15), Kanye West shocked and awed audiences at the Adult Swim's Upfront event at Roseland Ballroom in New York City when he took to the stage unnanouced and performed a selection of brand new songs. Oh yeah, and he did it all from inside a translucent pyramid. It is Kanye after all.

The rapper showed off two brand new songs, as well as the relatively new single 'Cold' and the classic, College Dropout anthem 'Jesus Walks' during the surprise set at the NYC event. Both tracks made it on to YouTube but have since been taken down. Because its Kanye, there was also a good few minutes dedicated to him ranting and raving about celebrity culture and his negative depiction in the tabloid as well as Saturday Night Live, on which the rapper will be serving as the musical guest on the final episode of the season this weekend (May 18). Fortunately, unlike his songs, the rant hasn't been taken down from YouTube.

Justin Timberlake Celebrates His Fifth Appearance On SNL With A Host Of Throw-Back Treats

Justin Timberlake Saturday Night Live

Justin Timberlake made his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live this weekend (9 March) in what was his fifth appearance on the hit comedy show. As JT entered the '5th Timers' club, he ascended into a selective group featuring an army of comedy legends - many of whom came out for the big night night.

In a sketch featuring many of the other '5 timers' from the show's history, Justin rubbed shoulders with Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Candice Bergen, Paul Simon, Candice Bergen and Dan Akroyd (who was only around to tend bar), before having the Three Amigos (Chase, Martin and Martin Short) themselves introduce Justin to the stage to perform his new single 'Mirrors'. Dressed in full Amigo attire, the trio of comedy all-stars gleefully ushered JT to the stage for one performance, with Justin also performing 'Suit and Tie' on the night. Whilst there were no comedy snippets for this performance, Jay Z did show up to deliver his verse.

Jeremy Renner Proves Tough Guys Can Be Funny During SNL Host Spot

Jeremy Renner Saturday Night Live Adam Levine

Jeremy Renner showed that he can shine where others have burnt out when the action star appeared on Saturday Night Live as last night's (Nov 17) host of the long-running comedy sketch show.

The Bourne Legacy star also had another ace up his sleeve when he showed us that not only can he do funny, and boy he can do funny, but he can even sing too! For the first skit of the show Renner discussed how he wishes that he could write and sing all the music for his films, before taking to a nearby piano and revealing one hell of a voice. To be honest, we're not sure if the first skit was even a skit at all, because that guy can sing!

Straight after that Renner and the SNL faithful sent up California natives, highlighting and lampooning all of their cliches a tee. Then, in something of a spin on the first sketch, Renner's next performance featured Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine flexing his acting muscles in a sketch that featured the two engaged in a never ending stalemate between two gun-toting gangsters. As Levine finally walks away from the awkward stand-off Renner then injected laughs once more by turning to the fellow stand-off participants he asked the: "Was that Adam Levine?"

Video - Lindsay Lohan Saturday Night Live After Party Arrivals

The Saturday Night Live after party was hosted by Lindsay Lohan, following her comeback appearance on the popular sketch show. Various cast members, including Kristen Wiig, made their way to the party; a few of them stopped to have their picture taken with their fans. The main attractions, though, were Dina Lohan, who stopped to chat with a young, starstruck fan; and Lindsay herself, who appeared to be in high spirits. She didn't stop for the photographers or fans, as she was quickly ushered into the building.

Lindsay hosted a recent episode (3rd March 2012) of Saturday Night Live, in which she joked about her recent troubles. The episode has since become the second most watched of the SNL season.

Nirvana Manager: Courtney Love Led To Band's Downfall

Nirvana Courtney Love Kurt Cobain Saturday Night Live

Danny Goldberg, former manager of Nirvana, has said Courtney Love was a toxic presence among the band.

Love married Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain in 1992, with the couple having a daughter, Frances Bean, before Cobain's suicide in 1994.

And according to Goldberg, Love had an instrumental role in Cobain's struggles with heroin and acted as the frontman's "mouthpiece".

"Courtney's very presence was a metaphor for the end of one era in the band's life and the beginning of another," he writes in his upcoming book Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside the Rock And Roll Business.

Goldberg discusses an incident in which he delivered money to the couple, believing they were about to spend it on heroin.

"The weekend in January 1992 that Nirvana did Saturday Night Live for the first time was a turning point that put into focus the heroin problem that was to haunt Kurt for the rest of his life.

"Courtney called me at home the morning the show aired," Goldberg continues in an excerpt, reproduced at Spinner.com, "and asked me to get Kurt $5,000 (£2,800) in cash so they could do some 'shopping'.

"I felt pretty uncomfortable as I delivered the package of $100 (£56) bills to her [Love] at the hotel," he explains.

"Abruptly, the dark cloud of drug excess had entered the band's life. I was confronted by the baroque facade of lies and the awful glassy-eyed deadness that regular heroin use provides."

Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside the Rock and Roll Business is released in the US on Thursday September 18th.
