P Diddy is alleged to have attacked an American football coach with a metal weight for yelling at his son during practice.

The 45-year-old music mogul is said to have become embroiled in an altercation with strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi at UCLA's training complex at around 12:30 p.m on Monday (22.06.15), allegedly threatening him with a kettlebell after criticising his 21-year-old son Justin.

Following the incident, UCLA head football coach Jim Mora issued a statement, saying: ''I'm thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved.''

He added that UCLA ''will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time''.

Diddy - who's been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery - is reported to have been angered by how hard the coach was working his son and by his confrontational approach, according to gossip website TMZ.

However, the rap star insisted Alosi was the aggressor in the incident rather than himself.
