If you wondered why Selena Gomez hanging around with Justin Bieber didn't seem to be a big deal for her boyfriend The Weeknd, that might be because they've recently broken up. But don't get excited if you still ship Jelena - it doesn't look like they'll be getting back together.

Several sources have revealed that Selena and The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - have gone their separate ways after just 10 months of dating. If rumours are to be believed, it's the usual story; busy schedules and touring have just left them with no time for each other.

'She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship', an insider told People. 'It's been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn't easy on them. It's over for now, but they're still in touch.'

'It's been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it's been hard for months', they continued, adding that despite the sad news, Selena had done her very best to attend his shows during his tour.

It's not been an easy year for Selena in any respect; this summer she was forced to take time out from her music career to concentrate on her health, as her diagnosis of lupus resulted in her having to undergo a kidney transplant (donated by her best friend Francia Raisa).

Since her recovery, ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber has been in touch, and the pair of them have been spending time together as friends. He visited her at her home with a bunch of their other friends, and later grabbed breakfast with her in Westlake Village before moving on to a church service in LA.
