It seems that motherhood is just days away for Colombian pop star Shakira after she revealed that she's pulling out of an upcoming appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and postponing all further work for the next few days in relation to the child that she and footballing other half Gerard Pique are expecting.

In a message on her personal website, the Hips Don't Lie star wrote "As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days." Continuing, she added "This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but I'm sure this weekend in Las Vegas will be spectacular and I will be closely following everything that happens there! I'd like to thank Clear Channel and my fans for their constant love and understanding."

Shakira has been dating Pique for two years, although the two only went public last year, and the news of her imminent arrival caps a big month of announcements for the singer, who also confirmed recently that she will replacing Christina Aguilera as a coach on The Voice next season.
