Shania Twain, the Canadian country singer-songwriter, has revealed that she "didn't want to live" after finding out her then-husband ROBERT LANGE was having an affair, reports People Magazine. Shania Twain spoke exclusively to Oprah Winfrey about the pain of discovering her husband had been cheating.
Shania Twain says the breakup of her marriage in 2008 had left her devastated but ultimately empowered. When asked how she felt upon discovering Lange was having an affair with her friend MARIE-ANN THIEBAUD, Twain said, "I didn't want to live". However, Twain says the end of the 14-year-old marriage was "a very positive thing", adding, "I needed the wake-up". The singer, who still doesn't know the exact details of the affair, revealed that she wrote to Thiebaud asking, "Why are you torturing me? Let it go, please.find love somewhere else from someone else". In a surprising turn of events, Twain turned to Marie-Anne's estranged husband Frederic for comfort and the couple eventually fell in love and married in January 2011.
After a five year absence from the stage, Shania Twain recently visited a doctor in Nashville in an attempt to fix a problem with her vocal cords. She is also set to release her new memoir titled 'From This Moment On'.
