This year’s X Factor has been one of the programmes most controversial with rap artist Honey G proving to be the novelty act of the series that nobody can shift. However, despite the public outcry at the fact Honey G is still in the competition, it seems a few people have taken it too far with the finalist even receiving death threats online.

Sharon OsbourneSharon's contestant, Honey G, has been receiving death threats as her talents continue to divide viewers

Honey G, 35, lived to sing another day this weekend (Sat 30 October) and talented songstress Gifty Louise was axed with her mentor Simon even (accidentally) calling his own act’s name to go home.

Fortunately, he was able to rectify that mistake but that didn’t help the star.

Now, as Honey G rocks on and Gifty Louise, 20, rides home, Sharon’s act has been receiving a lot of hate on Twitter with some users even calling for her to be shot or stabbed.

Someone tweeted: "You can’t f***ing rap to save your worthless life" while another said she should "kill herself".

Many X Factor fans believe the contestant should have been dropped at Judges’ Houses.

Gifty was forced to perform in the sing-off against girl band Four Diamonds and was not saved by any of the judges - until Simon remembered he was the one that needed to say her name.
