Ever since it first hit screens across the globe in 2010, 'Pretty Little Liars' has been entertaining audiences young and old with its mysterious storytelling and goings on. Now, seven years on, the series is drawing to a close.

Characters beloved by those watching have been through a lot of drama and chaos, which doesn't seem to have calmed ever since a five year time jump forward took place just over a year ago. Though the ladies thought they'd finally unmasked their only remaining 'A' adversary when Cece Drake revealed herself to be their tormentor, that was just the beginning.

Once more, lead characters Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) and Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) are facing a mysterious figure known only as 'A', so when the series does eventually finish, will they be able to put their terror behind them? And what will the fans think when all is said and done?

Executive producer I. Marlene King, who has been with the show ever since it started certainly thinks the majority of those watching at home are going to be impressed.

Speaking as part of a panel at the Dolby Theatre on Saturday, March 25 (which also included long-serving PLL cast-members Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell and Tyler Blackburn), King promised there's a nice payoff for loyal watchers.

She said: "I think that when shows end there's always a group of people who aren't happy about it, but I think the majority of people will be happy with the ending.

"We all worked so hard on it with the goal of satisfying fans with a proper ending to a show which has meant so much to so many people."

Mitchell added: "I'm very excited for the show to air and to see the fans' reactions. I won't have to hold in any secrets anymore.

"The fans can expect to be completely shocked, but happy that all their questions will be answered."

Viewers can now rest assured that they're going to get a closed ending, rather than one that leaves them with just as many questions going out as they had coming in. Shows in the past, such as 'Lost' and 'Dexter' have come under fire for not giving their most loyal of fans an ending that answers all of the questions collated throughout the series, so let's hope 'Pretty Little Liars' really isn't going to fall into that trap.
