Shia LaBeouf To Live Alone In Finnish Log Cabin For Next Art Project

Shia LaBeouf

Following the troubles surrounding his controversial art installation designed to protest Donald Trump’s administration, Shia LaBeouf is planning something a lot more low-key for his next art project – by exiling himself entirely.

For the next month, the actor-turned-performance artist will be living completely by himself in a log cabin in the remote Lapland region of Finland, with his only form of communication with the outside world coming via text messages to visitors of a museum in the country’s capital city, Helsinki.

The project is entitled #ALONETOGETHER, and is being undertaken with his art collective colleagues Luke Turner and Nastja Ronkko. Having begun on Wednesday (April 12th), the trio will be living in separate cabins in Finland, according to the Associated Press.

As if the constant misfortune that has been surrounding his anti-Donald Trump art installation wasn’t enough, Shia LaBeouf’s reputation has taken another hit with the news that his latest war movie, Man Down, took just £7 at the British box offices last weekend.

That’s right – the single-figure sum made by the film means that just one person paid to see Man Down over the weekend.

Shia LaBeouf's Anti-Donald Trump Art Installation Moves To Liverpool

Shia LaBeouf

Having endured a troubled start to life, Shia LaBeouf’s anti-Donald Trump art installation ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ has re-located from America altogether because of safety concerns, finding a new home in Liverpool.

The project is now to be housed at the British city’s Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT) Gallery, after events in New York and Albuquerque showed “that America is simply not safe enough for this artwork to exist”, according to a new statement from the Hollywood star’s artistic group LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner.

The installation was originally located on a wall outside New York’s Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, and debuted back on January 20th, the day of the controversial Trump’s inauguration as president.

Shia LaBeouf's Anti-Trump Installation Shut Again After Gunshots Fired

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf’s anti-Donald Trump art installation has been shut down for a second time in less than two weeks, on this occasion over public safety issues after gunshots were allegedly fired in the area.

The increasingly eccentric 30 year old actor set up the #HeWillNotDivideUs at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York, on the day of Trumps’ inauguration as president back in January. However, it quickly became a focal point for trouble as pro- and anti-Trump protestors were increasingly coming to blows.

Shia LaBeouf’s art installation protesting against Donald Trump has been shut down by the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City, where the project was being hosted.

For the past three weeks since President Trump was inaugurated back on January 20th, a permanent livestream outside the museum in Queens encouraged participants to stand in front of a camera and say the words ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ for as long as they want.

It was the latest real-life art project launched by LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner, which has engaged in headline-grabbing stunts since 2014. However, it has now been closed by the Moving Image for reasons of “ongoing public safety” issues.

Shia LaBeouf Arrested At His Anti-Donald Trump Art Installation

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf has reportedly been arrested and charged with assault and harassment at the site of his permanent protest against the new president Donald Trump this week, in circumstances that are not particularly clear.

The 30 year old actor, who has been in the headlines more frequently for his series of life-as-art projects than his actual movies in recent years, was handcuffed and led away by police on Wednesday evening (January 25th).

Reportedly, this happened a few hours after a 13-second video was released of LaBeouf shoving a man who addressed the camera with the words ‘Hitler did nothing wrong’, which was seen on the Twitter feed for #HeWillNotDivideUs, the name of LaBeouf’s permanent art installation in Queens, New York City.

Why Shia LaBeouf Is Quickly Becoming Our Favourite Underdog

Shia LaBeouf

We've felt for a few months now that Shia LaBeouf is really turning things around for himself. He's no longer the booze-swigging, plagiarizing attention-seeker that he was back in 2014, he's developed into an altruistic artist with a strong moral compass, and he's someone to learn from.

Shia LaBeoufShia LaBeouf is turning things around this year

Many people rolled their eyes when he appeared to shade Steven Spielberg in an interview with Variety back in September, but that's nothing when you consider what the rest of his confessional told us about him. Since he was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at Broadway's 'Cabaret' in 2014, he has given up alcohol.

Star is fed up with her current way of life; she's a teenager with her whole life ahead of her and no prospects coming her way in her current hometown. Setting out on the road, Star begins to have ideas about hitchhiking away from her troubled life and is approached by Jake, a carefree guy who travels state to state selling magazine subscriptions.

Jake isn't alone, he journeys with a team of fellow youth whom are part of a 'mag crew', who like Star, are running away from home for one reason or another. Jake tells Star about the crew and what they do; he tells her how the crew go door to door selling magazines whilst also exploring America and partying at night. This 'a business opportunity' is too good for Star to resist.

Speaking with Krystal, the only proviso for joining the crew seems to be that if she has no one to miss her, she's good to join. Life on the road begins as Jake explained, the small gang sells hard during the day and drink and party just as hard at night.

There were some who expressed pity for Shia LaBeouf when the actor revealed that he was going to watch all of his movies back to back, but it's just a shame it happened before this gem. In summary, this comedic road-trip drama directed by the Academy Award winning Andrea Arnold (of 'Fish Tank' and 'Wuthering Heights' fame) has been praised for its cast, its vitality and its focus on feelings rather than story. Shia LaBeouf's Almost-Fight In NYC Falls Perfectly In Line With His Chaotic Image

The incident was captured on video and subsequently published by the folks at TMZ.

James Franco: Are His Recent Antics For Real, Or Are We Being Taken For A Ride?

James Franco Seth Rogen Shia LaBeouf

Oh James Franco, where to start? Remember in February when everybody was getting weirded out by Shia LaBeouf and his Berlin paper bag ‘I am not famous anymore’ incident? Well one person who jumped to the actor’s defence was James Franco, by way of a NY Times article entitled ‘Why Actors Act Out’. In the piece he writes that he hoped Shia’s recent antics were “intended as a piece of performance art, one in which a young man in a very public profession tries to reclaim his public persona.” Now over two months on, Shia’s antics are out of the press and it’s Franco’s own behaviour which is taking up tabloid inches.

James francoJames Franco, it's not a selfie, he's fully clothed

First there was the incident when Franco appeared to be inviting a 17 year old fan to join him in a hotel room. After the screen capped exchange went viral Franco didn't seem to deny that the incident happened and would later tell Howard Stern that he felt he’d acted like a “gentleman” towards the young fan. This was not what the rest of Franco’s fanbase where expecting, because really the whole thing seemed too much like an elaborate stunt to promote Franco’s movie, Palo Alto, which is out later this month.

But I'm seriously here not like one of those 'I'm here for you's' that everybody says," Smith wrote in a series of tweets.

Shia LaBeouf Does Art.

Shia LaBeouf

I like Shia LaBeouf. I like that he does the opposite of what everyone else tells him to do. I like the paper bag thing. I like seeing pictures of him wearing scruffy jackets while everyone’s sporting a tux or a designer dress. And I like the fact he was in Transformers, and now he’s doing weird art stuff.

Berlin, Paper Bags, The Trawler - In Defence Of Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf

George Clooney walks around Hollywood, growing beards on a whim, drinking coffee and playing pranks on other famous, good-looking people. Michael Fassbender has the respect of both his peers and the critics. Jennifer Lawrence could win an Oscar for publically banning kittens.

Meanwhile, Shia LaBeouf is probably the most hated man in the industry right now. And it’s not fair. He wears paper bags on his head, insisting he’s not famous anymore. He appears naked in music videos. He head-butts people in the face for insulting his mum. He quotes footballers and storms out of press conferences. Are you not entertained?

Shia LaBeouf Storms Out Of Press Conference Prior To Wearing A Paper Bag On Head At 'Nymphomaniacs' Premiere

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf's behaviour hit an all-time high of bizarre at the unveiling of his new movie 'Nymphomaniacs,' this past Sunday (Feb 9th).

The 27 year-old began his headline grabbing day by storming out of a press conference in Berlin after only answering one question.

LaBeouf was asked about his frequent and graphic sex scenes in the Lars von Trier-directed flick.

Bieber Banged Up For Druggy Drag Racing: Justin Bieber has just had the mother of all terrible fortnights. The recalcitrant popstar was under investigation for a vicious egg attack on his neighbor's home by police who discovered drugs upon raiding Bieber's abode. The 'Baby' singer headed snowboarding with his equally rebellious chums with the threat of deportment looming. The singer was then arrested yesterday for DUI and drag racing in Miami.

Bieber showed what a true hard-ass he really was when police stopped him and he immediately snitched on himself, saying he was drunk and high on weed and prescription medication. The 19 year-old was released from a Miami jail an hour after a Miami judge, set a "standard" $2,500 bond Thursday afternoon. The widely-circulated mugshot shows the fallen star grinning ear-to-ear in his orange prison v-neck, prompting Seth Rogen to brand him "a piece of s**t."

Shia LaBeouf Responds To Jim Carrey's Golden Globe Diss But Quickly Apologises After Attacking Comedian's Parenting Skills

Shia LaBeouf

Jim Carrey took to the stage at the Golden Globes to present ‘American Hustle’ as a nominee for the ‘Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy’ award.

But the comedian wanted to get something off his chest and openly dissed actor Shia LeBeouf in front of the crowd of A-listers.

Carey said, “Dying is easy, comedy is hard. I believe it was Shia LaBeouf who said that,” he jokingly quipped to the laughing audience. “So young, so wise.”

Lena Dunham Criticises Shia LaBeouf's Plagiarism Apology, So Shia Plagiarises Lena

Shia LaBeouf Lena Dunham

Shia LaBeouf ripped off comic writer Daniel Clowes big time with his short film HowardCantour.com, a short which is pretty much a word-for-word copy of Clowes' comic book Justin M. Damiano. After coming under fire for his blatant rip off, Shia apologised, but did so by plagiarising another set of apologies (what is he like!).

Shia LaBeoufLena Dunham
Shia and Lena traded blows on Twitter

It then seemed as though he genuinely was sorry when his elaborate second apology took to the skies (literally) this week, however his method of using a skywriter to say sorry for real has met with confusion from most, with a number of people questioning his reasoning behind such an elaborate way of saying sorry. One such person to ask what the hell is going on in Shia's mind happened to be Girls' star and creator Lena Dunham, who took a swipe at LaBeouf on Twitter.

Shia LaBeouf Takes To The Skies For ANOTHER Apology For Plagiarism

Shia LaBeouf Daniel Clowes

Shia LaBeouf has taken to the skies for his latest apology to graphic novel writer Daniel Clowes over plagiarism. We all know the story by now - Shia ripped huge chunks of his short movie HowardCantour.com from one of Clowes' books - but the actor is still keen to show that he is oh, so very sorry.

Shia LaBeoufShia LaBeouf Has Apologised To Daniel Clowes, Again

"I am sorry Daniel Clowes," read a message over the Los Angeles skyline this week - an image later posted by LaBeouf on his official Twitter feed. Yep, that's an apology in the sky.

Shia LaBeouf Apologises For Plagiarism... In Skywriting

Shia LaBeouf Daniel Clowes

Shia LaBeouf found himself under deep scrutiny after airing his new short film, HowardCantour.com, in December last year after some people noticed some glaring similarities between it and the Daniel Clowes comic Justin M. Damiano. As Shia continues to find himself in negative discussion, he wrote an apology to Clowes in a rather elaborate fashion, by taking to the skies.

Shia LaBeouf
LaBeouf was placed under heavy scrutiny after ripping off Clowes' work

"I am sorry Daniel Clowes," the message hanging off the end of a skywriter plane read. LaBeouf tweeted a picture of the plane and message afterwards along with the note, "CLOUD: - vapor floating in the atmosphere - remote servers used to SHARE DATA - to make LESS CLEAR or TRANSPARENT."

Shia LaBeouf Trolls Everyone By Plagiarising His Apology For Plagiarism

Shia LaBeouf

Apparently nobody told Shia LaBeouf about the universally agreed upon rules on plagiarism, because he just keeps doing it. The Transformers actor came under fire earlier this week for having used Daniel Clowes’ comic “Justin M. Damiano” as the basis for his short film “HowardCantour.com”. And by “using as the basis” we mean he copied it pretty much word for word, with some name changes.

Shia LaBeouf
By now it's just getting awkward.

Fortunately, LaBeouf apologized after the plagiarism came to light. Unfortunately for him, it turns out his apology was also plagiarized. Yes, that just happened. Since the media got wind of the fact that LaBeouf had borrowed his apology from (no joke) a four-year-old Yahoo! Answers post, the actor issued yet more apologies. Let’s just say that by now, it’s getting a bit strange. On Wednesday, he tweeted an apology, which was rather obviously ripped from Tiger Woods’ statement following his 2009 infidelity scandal.

"I F*cked Up" Shia LaBeouf Has Done A Little Bit Of Plagiarism

Shia LaBeouf Daniel Clowes

Shia LaBeouf's short movie HowardCantour.com - which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Critic's Week sidebar in 2012 - was made available online on Monday (December 16, 2013) and it didn't take long for the haters to start piling in.

Shia LaBeoufShia LaBeouf Sort Of Admitted To Plagiarising

When we say haters, what we actually mean is movie fans who noticed the distinct similarities between LaBeouf's movie and Daniel Clowes' comic book Justin M. Damiano. Articles began popping up dissecting the similarities between the movies and Clowes' text and HowardCantour.com disappeared behind a password protected wall, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Shia LeBeouf Bares Nearly All On Social Media, Nothing New

Disturbia Review

Very Good
Disturbia is a critically vulnerable film at the outset. Its task is an audacious one: "YouTubing" Hitchcock. Who isn't disturbed by the prospect of D.J. Caruso (Taking Lives!) helming a Rear Window rip-off for the MySpace generation? In the role of Jimmy Stewart: The talented if somewhat untested Shia LeBeouf. Grace Kelly: Sarah Roemer, a bit player in the woeful The Grudge 2. Gulp. Instead of a telescope, we get about four sets of binoculars, video cameras, mobile phones, and some outrageously sophisticated computer surveillance equipment. Instead of the poignantly crafted Miss Lonelyheart and the frustrated composer of Hitchcock's film, the neighbourhood offers for our voyeuristic pleasures the bikini-clad girl next door and a group of prepubescents with a penchant for porn. There is so much wrong before the film has even begun.

The film's beginning will not allay your fears. Kale (LaBeouf) and his dad (Matt Craven) are fishing. Knee-deep in a lake and surrounded by mountains, they share a particularly cheesy father-son moment. We see that he's not just Kale's father, he is his friend. The relationship is so clichéd and the setting so cloyingly idyllic, that one wants to run for the (admittedly beautiful-looking) hills. However, before you go to switch off the Hallmark channel, Caruso offs the dad in a car accident just brutal enough to forgive what came before and dissolve some preconceptions. It's a pretty good move (although not quite Janet Leigh in the Bates Motel shower) and sets us up for a film that effectively handles and plays its audience.

Bobby Review

Bad
Filmmakers go overboard all the time, but none more than Oliver Stone. When Stone released JFK in 1991, it was obvious that he was pulling from a biased idealism, but he wasn't necessarily fibbing either. The cumulative effect of Stone's film was investigative fervor; even if you didn't believe the bulk of what was being given, you had to be shocked by a few of his points. The film was about looking back, but it was also about the hushed panic of the Kennedy assassination and the rest of the '60s. So, maybe going overboard was important to what Stone was after.

You won't find any sort of rabblerousing or sense of time in Emilio Estevez's Bobby, his account of the people that were in attendance when Robert F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Los Angeles' Ambassador Hotel. Estevez tosses together close to two dozen major characters and storylines along with footage of RFK campaigning against racism, America's poverty, and unlawful McCarthy tactics. The stories run the gamut from a young couple (Elijah Wood and Lindsay Lohan) getting hitched to keep the groom out of the war to an alcoholic diva (Demi Moore) and her forgotten husband (Estevez himself) to a philandering hotel manager (William H. Macy) who must keep his affair with a switchboard operator (Heather Graham) from his wife (Sharon Stone) and from an infuriated ex-employee (Christian Slater). There's also a pack of poll campaigners (Nick Cannon, Joshua Jackson, Shia Labeouf, and Brian Geraghty) who must deal with an acid freak out facilitated by a hippie (Ashton Kutcher), a pushy Czech journalist (Svetlana Metkina), and a flirty waitress at the hotel restaurant (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Sounds like the makings of an ensemble comedy, no?

Constantine Review

Very Good
How's this for a story premise: God made a pact with the Devil that none of their minions - angels and demons - would ever cross over from the ethereal planes of Heaven and Hell into the human plane. But occasionally, the minions break the rules, and it's up to supernatural hero John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) to "deport" them to Hell as punishment.

Pretty badass, right? Definitely. Deep and meaningful? Hardly. This is a violent and apocalyptic story, based loosely on the Hellblazer graphic novels by comic book legend Alan Moore. And much to the relief of comic book fanboys everywhere, this adaptation adheres to the heavy, religious-war foundational spirit of Moore's work.

Holes Review

Weak
In certain literary circles, the ones that meet during fourth-period study hall, Louis Sachar's Newberry Award-winning Holes has replaced the Harry Potter series as the hip new read. No wonder, since the novel introduces readers to a gaggle of misfit teens who hide behind self-inflicted nicknames like X-Ray (for his thick eye glasses) and Armpit (for his distinctive odor) and are characterized by their rebellious attitude towards authority.

Sachar's antihero is Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LaBeouf), an affable but luckless teen who's accused of a crime he did not commit and ordered to serve his sentence at Camp Green Lake, a Texas labor camp that's neither green nor near any lake. Instead of archery and crafts, the inmates spend their days digging holes under the watchful eye of crusty Mr. Sir (Jon Voight). His boss, Warden Walker (Sigourney Weaver), seeks something of value under the camp and needs the boys to keep tunneling until the unidentified treasure is found.

Holes Review

Good

A rare kids' flick that engages youthful intellect and heart instead of patting youngsters on the head and spoon-feeding them stock anecdotes and tie-in toys, "Holes" is a fun family flick with a manifold plot about a smart, quiet teenager who gets the fate-fueled chance to reverse his family's hereditary bad luck.

It seems a curse was put the great-great-grandfather of curly-headed moppet Stanley Yelnats (Shia LaBeouf), and the trickle-down effect has landed the kid at a parched, ghost-town-like juvenile rehabilitation center in West Texas -- ironically called Camp Green Lake -- for a crime he didn't commit.

The venomous Warden (Sigorney Weaver, delighting in the role's sneering, sinister qualities) has a strange idea for building character in her charges: the boys spend every single day digging five-foot-deep holes in the dry lakebed. Her policies are enforced by the Mr. Sir, a classically menacing, beer-bellied, bow-legged figure played by Jon Voight in a scene-stealing standout performance. Sporting a graying Elvis pompadour, a villain's pencil mustache, twitchy wild eyes, and a low-slung holster, he's the kind of baddie who makes you giggle while making your skin crawl too, as he squints in the faces of potential escapees and seethes that in the desert "the buzzards'll pick ya clean by the end of the third day."
