Simon Le Bon's vocal problems, which prompted Duran Duran to scrap a series of summer (11) shows, appear to be on the mend - the band has announced a string of U.S. shows beginning next month (Sep11).
The Rio hitmakers axed several gigs on their U.K. tour in May (11) after Le Bon fell ill with what medics believed was a throat infection. After resting his voice for three weeks and undergoing a series of tests, he was still deemed too ill to perform and Duran Duran were forced to call off five dates in mainland Europe.
They cancelled their entire summer touring schedule last month (Jul11), just days before they were scheduled to play their first date in Dublin, Ireland, so Le Bon could continue to rest his damaged vocal cords and undergo physical therapy - but now the band has announced new dates.
The group will play 24 U.S. dates, kicking off on 23 September (11) in Everett, Washington. The dates will wrap up in Atlantic City, New Jersey on 29 October (11).
