'Music Has Officially Died': Kim Kardashian Covers Rolling Stone And Sinead O'Connor Is Not Impressed

Sinead O’Connor has made her feeling very clear over Rolling Stone's choice of Kim Kardashian as the magazine's latest cover star. The outspoken singer posted an expletive fill rant on her Facebook page blasting the iconic magazine for using Kardashian on the cover, while declaring, ‘music has officially died’.

Don’t expect to find Sinead O’Connor picking up the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

‘What is this c**t ("I don't smile much because it causes wrinkles") doing on the cover of Rolling Stone? Music has officially died,’ O’Connor wrote on her official page. ‘Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be fucking horrified. #BoycottRollingStone #AGenerationIsBeingGroomedAndSilenced’

Fans of O’Connor’s had a largely mixed reaction to the singer’s stance with some commenting with messages of support and others posting in disagreement. One fan told the singer, ‘Exactly!!! What the hell do the Kardashians have to do with Rolling Stone or music ?! Well said Sinead!!’. While another added, ’Rolling Stone hasn't been about the music for a long while now.’

One user chose to remind the singer of Bob Dylan’s past writing, ’Bob Dylan released an album which could only be bought at Starbucks. I don't think Bob Dylan would be as horrified as you think. Rolling Stone is about selling magazines.’ However O’Connor quickly commented back, ‘Key words here are "released an album'.

When another user wrote, ‘Amazing... fake tits, money and no talent get you on the cover of the Rolling Stone! Someone should write a song about that…’, O’Connor replied with, ‘Someone already did write a song about it’ and linked to a video of Queen performing ‘Radio Gaga’.

But this is not the first time O’Connor has shared her views on celebrities and the state of the music industry. In an interview with Time magazine in November 2013 the 48 year old called the music industry 'nothing but vampires and pimps' and slammed its 'over-sexualisation' of young stars including Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.
