Funk icon Sly Stone has been ordered to remain in rehab for another 60 days as part of a plea deal relating to a drug possession charge.
The singer was taken into custody in April (11) after Los Angeles police found cocaine in a car he was a passenger in during a search of the vehicle following a minor traffic violation stop.
He pleaded not guilty to possession in June (11), but changed his plea to no contest on Tuesday (15Nov11) after striking an agreement with prosecutors.
Under the deal, Stone, who checked into rehab last month (Oct11), must complete an additional 60 days in a treatment programme in order to have the case dismissed and escape probation.
His lawyer tells Tmz.com, "We are very pleased with the outcome of this case."
The eccentric star, 68, has struggled with drink and drug addictions for years. He recently hit the headlines when it was discovered Stone was homeless and living out of a van.
