Arguably what could be Florida's most fun-packed 3-day event of the year, Big Guava Music Festival makes its debut today (May 2nd 2014) with an impressive line-up headlined by Outkast, Vampire Weekend and Foster The People.

There's a lot of things we like about Florida, and we reckon Big Guava's inaugural event will definitely be one of them. Set against the glorious city backdrop of Tampa, this festival is bound to be the highlight of your year as it arrives at the Florida State Fairgrounds and Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre. As well as  40 awesome bands on 4 different stages, you got your craft beers, your diverse food trucks and your epic fairground rides (which are free, by the way) that will keep you busy in between performances from a line-up that prides itself on its quality over quantity. Having said that, we still think you're going to be spoilt for choice with this lot.

Introducing: Smallpools With Their Awesome LA Vibes

Sometimes, great success comes gradually for musicians - often taking years upon years to achieve any sort of mainstream attention - but for others, it's a whirlwind of support from the very off and LA-rockers Smallpools were the lucky ones.

The four-piece formed earlier this year when singer Sean abandoned his New York home in favour of a more vibrant music scene on the other side of the country in Los Angeles. 'Before we started the band, we would go out to a bunch of free shows and see what the scene was like and what bands were up to', Sean told us in an interview. And by 'us' he meant he and his long-time pal Mike (guitarist) with whom he began the band after meeting Joe (bassist) and Beau (drummer). 'There's just an overall great mood and vibe that definitely came through in our writing and music', he said.

Smallpools - Interview

Front man Sean abandoned 'cold' and 'serious' New York to move to the relaxed atmosphere of Los Angeles in order to persue his musical dream with close childhood friend and guitarist Mike. After meeting Joe (bass) and Beau (drums), the catchy indie vibes and buoyant choruses that Smallpools pride themselves on were born. The up and coming band enticed audiences with debut single 'Dreaming' reaching #1 on The Hype Machine. They now continue to grow in reputation and experience, recently touring alongside Two Door Cinema Club.

Sean talks to us about what it's like to be in the UK, stories from the road and using Snapchat to talk to the fans!

CM: Welcome to the UK, how are you finding London?
Sean: So far, so good! We played a show last night (11/05) and got in a day before so I haven't seen much yet but so far I'm a fan.
