The One Tree Hill star used Instagram.com to document her trip to Gulu, where she met women who make beaded necklaces for 31 Bits, an initiative which gives them a steady income.

Bush, who runs a perfume business called I Smell Great, hailed the women as an inspitation, writing, "What an incredible welcome to Gulu, Uganda!! The 175 women of 31 Bits... 31 Bits was born to help rehabilitate a war-torn region...To return hope to families...

"The women I am visiting here in Uganda are creating great through fashion (sic). I'm blown away, as we speak about what this means to them, by the sameness of humanity. These ladies make beads by hand... We are a community of female entrepreneurs... Let's empower each other."
