The End Records Announce 2013 Sxsw Showcase Lineup

The End Records are proud to announce this year's annual End SXSW showcase  located at Hickory St. on March 14th from 8PM-1AM featuring a mix of new artists the label has signed in the past year. The line-up includes new metal band Pushmen (ex-members of Heartless Bastards, The Sword, Made Out Of Babies, Bad Powers, Employer Employee RATKING, and Sea of 1000), UK rockers LostAlone, Austin favorites My Jerusalem, Scott Lucas & The Married Men and UK electronic rock stars Reverend and The Makers closing the show to keep the party going all night long.

The End Records SXSW Showcase Times:
9pm Pushmen
10pm LostAlone
11pm My Jerusalem
12am Scott Lucas & The Married Men
1am Reverend and The Makers

The pedigree of Pushmen's parts are impressive to begin with, the band is comprised of guitarist Mark Nathan (Heartless Bastards), drummer Kevin Fender (The Sword), bassist Cooper (Made Out Of Babies, Bad Powers, Players Club), and vocalist Craig Moore and guitarist Joey Cortez (Employer Employee, Ratking, Sea of 1000). This in turn makes the 'whole' a brutalizing result with years of experience, style and attitude to back it up. Aptly named after the Japanese subway workers who physically stuff human beings into crowded Tokyo commuter trains, Pushmen do the same to your sensibilities.

Since their inception, LostAlone have toured with legends, supporting a number of major artists such as Enter Shikari, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Evanescence and 30 Seconds to Mars. Now the band's already critically acclaimed sophmore album "I'm A UFO In This City" is coming to North America April 2, 2013.

Recording with Jacknife Lee (Weezer, U2, R.E.M.) and Greg Wells (Mika, Deftones, Katy Perry) opened up new ways of recording for the band and enabled them to achieve the ambition they had always dreamed of. Steven explains, "The album title is not about aliens but about alienation, I have felt, as I'm sure many people have, like the UFO in my own city and cities all around the world and I like it!"

My Jerusalem
Hot off tours supporting The Wallflowers, X, the Psychedelic Furs, and Heartless Bastards, My Jerusalem has made a name for themselves in the music scene with their "post-modern southern gothic soul" sound. The album made it in many Best of 2012 lists including charting at #1 on Examiner's Indie Rock Records, PopMatters, The Silver Tongue and The Deli Austin. The album has been reviewed by press such as Uncut, Guitar World, ArtRocker, The Austin Chronicle, and All Music, among many others.  Stand out track "Shatter Together" has also been featured in ABC's show 666 Park Avenue.

Scott Lucas & The Married Men
Before Scott Lucas & The Married Men hit the road with EmptyMansions, they'll head south to Austin, TX, where they'll play a few shows during SXSW next month. They'll be a part of The End Records showcase on Thursday, March 14th at Hickory St. (800 Congress Ave.) with several of their labelmates and are also confirmed to play at the Reggies Chicago daytime party on Friday, March 15th at the Lodge (411 E. 6th St.). Another performance on Saturday, March 16th will be announced soon.

Reverend and The Makers
It takes a special talent to make magic out of the kitchen sink, to tell the story of the real world with an intimate touch that doesn't sound patronising.  Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers made his name with this kind of writing and the new album sees the band return with their most concise and perfect work yet. If Shane Meadows made great contemporary pop records, mashing the rush of indie with the hedonistic pulse of electronics and dance, then this what they would sound like.
