A planned reality talent show to find replacements for Victoria and Mel C ahead of a Spice Girls reunion tour have been blocked.
The Spice Girls’ civil war surrounding the group’s prospective reunion has taken another turn, with Mel C and Victoria Beckham apparently blocking plans by the remaining three members to hold a televised talent contest to recruit two replacements for possible reunion shows.
Plans for a reunion of the iconic ‘90s group have been in the offing for over a year, to mark the 21st anniversary of the release of their debut single ‘Wannabe’ in 1996. However, only Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton have been on board with it, with Beckham wanting to focus on her fashion career and Mel C also opposed to another reunion.

The former Spice Girl is already mother to 10-year-old daughter Bluebell.
Geri Horner has announced the birth of her second child, a baby boy born on January 21.
Announcing the happy news on Twitter, the former Spice Girl shared: “Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz.”

Melanie C and Victoria Beckham are the two hold-outs on a full Spice Girls reunion next year.
There’s been much talk of the incomplete Spice Girls reunion next year to celebrate the band’s 21st anniversary. Now, in a new interview, one of the reluctant hold-outs to the reunion, Melanie C, has said that a get-together without her is “not the same”.
The 42 year old singer, whose full name is Melanie Chisholm, told BBC News: “I describe the Spice Girls as a jigsaw puzzle. If there's a piece missing, it's not the full picture, we weren't just a band with interchangeable parts.”

Mel has decided not to join the group for their upcoming reunion shows, no matter how lucrative the offer is.
Mel C has opened up about her battles with depression and eating disorders during her days in the Spice Girls. Speaking to Event magazine, the former Sporty Spice said that sometimes she couldn't even look at herself in the mirror during her heyday with the group, because of the constant scrutiny she was under.

Williams previously dated Geri Halliwell briefly in the mid-nineties.
Robbie Williams wife Ayda Field appeared to hint on Friday’s (July 8) ‘Loose Women’ that her husband knew three of the Spice Girls very well. Williams is known to have once dated Geri Horner, but according to Ayda he may also have had flings with Mel C and Emma Bunton.

Beckham had said her microphone was turned off during her days in the girl group.
Mel B has denied former bandmate Victoria Beckham’s recent claim that her microphone was switched off during Spice Girls concerts. Beckham, who wasn't known for her vocal skills, had previously said that her mic used to be muted during live performances, but Mel B has said that’s simply not true.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Mel B said: “"She wishes it was turned off! We sung live, and we wrote and recorded all our music together live and we performed it live. It wasn't turned down. Not that I know of. Maybe she secretly asked for that -- I don't know about that.”
She's promoting her first solo album in ten years, but the hosts wanted to know more about the rumoured reunion.
The much-rumoured Spice Girls 20th anniversary reunion might be back on the cards as Geri Halliwell confirmed that the girl group has been in “talks” about getting back together for a brief celebratory tour.
Halliwell, 43, appeared on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (September 8th) when she was asked whether the group had any plans to mark two decades since their first single and album next year. She responded cautiously, admitting that her band-mates Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C had been in preliminary discussions about reuniting (Victoria Beckham is already believed to have turned down the possibility).
However, she didn’t want to get fans’ hopes up unnecessarily as nothing had been set in stone yet. “I think it's really faltering that people are still supportive of the Spice Girls individually and collectively, that's beautiful, it's really nice. It almost feels you know that it [the Spice Girls] belongs to everyone, like a generation.”

The Sun had broken a story on Friday morning of an imminent Spice Girls reformation for their 20th anniversary next year.
Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice, was responding to an article on Friday (August 7th) in The Sun which claimed that the most successful girl group in pop history would be reuniting for its 20th anniversary with an international tour next year, but without Victoria Beckham.
Just a few hours later, she seemed to put a dampener on those rumours on her Heart London breakfast radio show. “If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know, but nothing’s happening at the moment,” she said.
