The action star had come under in March after supporting Russia's annexation of the peninsula from Ukraine and he was bumped from the line-up of an Estonian blues festival this summer.

Seagal - the star of Above The Law and Under Siege - had travelled to Crimea because "music unites people". According to the Guardian, he said he considers Putin "a friend and I'd like to consider him a brother."
