Metronomy Round Off Their Album Tour As Festival No. 6 Headliners


Festival No.6 Metronomy Grace Jones Belle And Sebastian Catfish And The Bottlemen Stornoway Blossoms Mark Ronson British Sea Power Years & Years

All headliners for Wales' Festival No. 6 have now been announced, with Metronomy now heading the bill with Grace Jones and Belle & Sebastian. Further new acts have also been added to the line-up, while many more acts are yet to be announced.

British electronic collective Metronomy head the bill with Jamaican crooner Grace Jones and Glasgow pop group Belle & Sebastian as a host of other new bands are added to the festival line-up. The fourth instalment of this uniquely cultured festival is set to hit Portmeirion from September 3rd to 6th, bringing with it some fine artists such as Catfish & The Bottlemen, Jame Bay, Stornoway and Blossoms to name but a few.

Live At Leeds 2015 Brings 200 Artists To 20 Venues

Every year in Leeds, the May Bank Holiday marks the return of a whole bunch of great gigs for the annual Live At Leeds festival. Played by tons of bands at venues all over the city, the festival pulls in a good crowd with its diverse line-up. In the past, the festival has hosted loads of great acts including Bombay Bicycle Club, Wild Beasts and James Blake.

Last year's festival brought in a number of popular acts including Clean Bandit, George Ezra, Kodaline, Little Matador and Pulled Apart By Horses - a line-up which helped win the festival its 'Best Metropolitan Festival' accolade, beating Brighton's popular 'Great Escape' and pop-punk festival 'Slam Dunk' to the top spot.

Stornoway - Tales From Terra Firma Album Review


Oxford's Stornoway return to the fold this spring with their self-produced, semi-concept sophomore album, 'Tales From Terra Firma.'

Composed in a campervan and recorded in their parents' garage, 'Tales' is a record full of wistful charm and maritime melancholy that beautifully captures Stornoway's unique blend of Cotswold Americana. 

Opting to self-produce can be a risky business, but in 'Tales' we discover a collection of songs that are lyrically more thoughtful and instrumentally more sophisticated than its 2010 predecessor 'Beachcomber's Windowsill'.  Gone are the carefree musings of a love-struck Oxford undergraduate and in their place we find vocalist and lyricist Brian Briggs all grown-up and dealing with bigger issues such as death, marriage and metaphorical albatrosses.

Stornoway released their debut album 'Beachcomber's Windowsill' to critical acclaim in May this year. Winning the hearts of thousands with their fresh folk pop, Contactmusic.com were happy to catch up with singer and guitarist Brian Briggs by the Park Stage at Worthy Farm. He chatted about the band's debut album, their formation and his epic journey to the festival - it was lucky he made it at all after his van broke down and he spent 33 hours on an industrial estate!
