Just in case two different ways of experiencing the sure-to-be lavish special effects of Man Of Steel wasn’t enough for your eyes, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures announced yesterday (November 7) that they are to release the film in 3D in some select movie theatres. Get digging those weird looking plastic glasses out, readers!

Man Of Steel, the latest in the Superman franchise, is going to star Henry Cavill in the famous cape, alongside Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Russell Crowe among others. So that’ll be nice seeing them in ultra-high definition eh? Director Zack Snyder certainly seems pretty pumped about it: “The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats: 2D, 3D and IMAX. Anticipating how audiences today embrace 3D, we designed and photographed the movie in a way that would allow Man of Steel to captivate those movie goers, while respecting fans who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience,” he said in a statement. “We’ve taken great measures to ensure the film and the story come first, and 3D is meant as an enhancement.”

We’ve heard that before, with the The Hobbit the latest to currently worry people that the story is going to fail thanks to the focus on effects. Hopefully Man Of Steel will get it right.
