Alicia Keys' husband, real name Kasseem Dean, was elected to the Brooklyn Museum board on Thursday (22Oct15) and he is excited to help venue bosses reach new audiences.

"I want to be able to pull out my global Rolodex... (to help take) art to the next level," he tells The Wall Street Journal.

The Bronx native has long supported up-and-coming artists and has even built up his own so-called "Dean Collection", featuring work by the likes of KAWS and painter Kehinde Wiley.

Sharing the news with fans on Instagram.com, he wrote, "So proud to be teaming up with (museum director) @annepasternak to make artists' dreams come true."

He added, "Today I became a Trustee of the @brooklynmuseum!!! Time to show the world the power of art!!! All eyes on forward-thinking and creativity!!! The sky is not the limit it's just the view!! #thedeancollection (sic)".
