R&B star Tamar Braxton is undergoing in vitro fertilisation treatment to add to her family after revealing she suffered a miscarriage last year (16).
The 40-year-old, who shares three-year-old son Logan with her manager husband Vincent Herbert, went public with her baby tragedy during the latest episode of her family reality show Braxton Family Values, which was filmed in late 2016 and aired in the U.S. on Thursday (30Mar17).
Opening up about the loss during a chat with her sister, fellow singer Toni Braxton, she explained why she kept the news a secret from her loved ones.
"You know, I didn't tell nobody (sic) because it was very, very new," Tamar said. "Well, maybe, like, a week before I went to Atlanta, I found out that I was pregnant."
She went on to admit she is now seeking fertility treatment to help the couple give little Logan a sibling.
"Going through IVF is not easy, you know," she lamented. "The mental part, trying to stay calm, trying to stay positive when the stakes are so high and the instant weight gain and body change throws you completely off, but then it's the other side of it, like 'Oh my gosh, it (pregnancy) could be (possible).'"
Tamar subsequently thanked fans for their support after the episode aired, posting on Twitter, "Thanks for watching guys!! Tonight was a hard one.... I love u all so much (sic)".
It's not clear exactly when Tamar suffered the miscarriage, but she and Vince spent some time in Atlanta, Georgia in August (16), when police were called to their hotel following reports of a domestic dispute-turned-ugly.
Vince was said to have bitten Tamar's hand in the fight, but he had left the scene by the time cops arrived, and the singer has since insisted there was no truth to the claims.
The couple wed in 2008.
