Sharknado 4 Will Be Titled 'Sharknado: The 4th Awakens'

Tara Reid Ian Ziering

It's been revealed that the fourth instalment of the Sharknado franchise will pay homage to Star Wars with its title, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens. Syfy have also just announced that the TV movie will premiere on Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. on the cable network.

Tara ReidTara Reid will be back for Sharknado 4.

The latest film in the franchise will be set five years after the East Coast was torn apart in last summer’s Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No. Ian Ziering will return as Fin, who has spent the past five years living happily shark free. But now the sharks and tornados are back and turning up in unexpected places.

Tara Reid's Signature Scent? Shark. And Lavender, Apparently.

Tara Reid

Here’s a thing you didn’t know you needed until just now – Tara Reid’s shark perfume. No joke, the Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One star has a perfume deal and is releasing her new scent, Shark by Tara. The scent description boasts notes of iced mint, violet, lemon, jasmine, amber, musk and more – not exactly what you’d get a whiff of, if a shark dropped from the sky, though I’m definitely not speaking from experience here.

Tara Reid
Maybe it's the shark's attitude you're supposed to get from this? Unclear.

According to the description on Tara’s own website, the perfume also incorporates a bouquet of ”lavender-colored flowers”, which is, incidentally, Reid’s favorite colour. So it sounds fresh, at least. This one sounds fun for the novelty, if not anything else, although the $24,95 price tag might be asking a bit much for the sharky scent. For that price, the bottle could have at least been shaped like a shark head or something.

"Sharknado 2: The Second One" Causes Full-Scale Tweetnado

Tara Reid Ian Ziering

Today in “how is this even happening” news, Sharknado 2 made a killing with its ratings. Ha. Get it? A killing? Well, it’s making a moderate, relative to other SyFy original movies, killing. In related news, the subsequent Tweetnado broke records set by the likes of Kimye and Miley Cyrus.

The movie premiered on Wednesday night to the best ratings SyFy has seen. Ever.  Sharknado 2: The Second One attracted 3.9 million total viewers and 1.6 million adults age 18-49, averaging 1.8 million adults age 25-54. That's nearly three times the ratings the original Sharknado movie earned.

Sharks And Absurdity Descend On NYC In "Sharknado 2: The Second One"

Tara Reid Ian Ziering

As unfortunate as the idea of Sharknado 2 sounds, it’s happening. Let that sink in for a second: someone wrote, filmed and edited a sequel to 2013’s lamest B-movie. Sharknado: The Second One was reportedly filmed in just 18 days for less than $2 million and premiers Wednesday. The “natural” disaster hits New York this time. The good news: someone at Asylum and/or SyFy obviously realized the only selling point of the original was its ridiculousness, so this time they’ve amped it up.

Ian Ziering, Tara Reid
Ian Ziering and Tara Reid stayed on to star in The Second One.

Sharknado 2: The Second One (the name really tells you everything you need to know) features chainsaws, Ian Ziering delivering inspiring speeches and sharks, sharks everywhere. The CGI team have really taken their job above and beyond, in quantity, if not quality. As Tara Reid put it in a recent interview with USA Today: "The sharks could go anywhere from inside hospitals to the Mets stadium to subways, to the street, to you name it, a shark could be there. The Empire State Building."

'Sharknado' To Strike Again As Tara Reid And Ian Ziering Sign On For Sequel

Tara Reid Ian Ziering

Sharknado 2: The Second Oneis well and truly underway with stars Tara Reid and Ian Ziering now signing on for the sequel, set to be shown this April. Syfy wasted no time last July announcing plans for the sequel when the TV movie became the most talked about television event of the summer.

After a the original announcement of a sequel fans took to Twitter in their thousands to suggest potential titles, with producers eventually deciding on the not so creative Sharknado 2: The Second One. Sharknado told the story of April (Tara Reid) and Finn (Ian Ziering) who are the only people able to save New York after a freak weather system floods the city with shark infested water. The TV movie became an unlikely hit thanks in part to social media, though it dividing opinion with some calling it the 'worst movie ever'.

Sharknado Sequel: A Title Is Chosen, More Sharks Are Coming

Tara Reid Ian Ziering John Heard

It's Shark Week ladies and gents and what better way to celebrate than unveil the announcement of the movie title we've all been waiting for. Sharknado, the film that visualised the inconceivable horror of sharks, AKA the shredders of the sea, taking to air and land as a hurricane rages through a waterlogged Los Angeles, will be reincarnated in a sequel.

Tara Reid Ian Ziering
Tara Reid & Ian Ziering Lived The Horror Of Sharks On Land.

Starring shark defenders Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, Sharknado saw sharks blasted in their droves out of drains, they flew in their gnashing swarms through the stormy air and swam craftily through the underwater streets of LA with one thing on their mind. Blood...and reviews so bad the acid burned through the words. The internet's reaction ranged from "woah, sharks!" to nervous disparagement that was thinly veiled behind the "LOLZ." However, one chilling question gripped everyone's minds. Could there possibly be...more sharks?

Okay, Now Will You Admit Sharknado Is Awful? Jedward To Star In Sequel

Jedward Tara Reid

Sharknado’s producers have been trying so hard to make Sharknado ridiculous, they may have just pushed it too far. Disgraced Hollywood stars, a ridiculous plot and a laughable script are one thing – people still buy into it – but the most annoying twins on the planet? Too far.

JedwardJedward with floppy hair

Jedward’s twitter account - @planetjedward – confirmed the news that they would be starring in the sequel. "Talked to @tarareid we just found out that we are gonna star in #sharknado 2 and will also be doing a song for the sound track," it said.

Missed 'Sharknado' On The Small Screen? Well, Not To Worry

Tara Reid

Something happens to people when intentionally bad movies get big, we’re not sure what to call it, but there’s a kind of cultish devotion to the art of bad cinema, and it’s becoming just as big as the cultish devotion to good cinema (anyone who owns that Werner Herzog boxset look away now, go and pre-order something in the world cinema section).

So if you missed Sharknado when it was on SyFy, and let’s face it, you probably only knew it was on when you logged in to Twitter and saw the storm brewing, then you can still catch the B-movie, starring the one and only Tara Reid.

Reid, who has recently been linked with a Sharknado exit (Sharknado shouldn’t be so much of a thing that people can be linked with exits, but they are) has been talking about how funny it was to shoot.

Will Tara Reid Feature In Sharknado 2?

It seems unlikely Tara Reid will be reprising her role in a Sharknado sequel. Sources close to the show's producers have said they are not interested in having the 37-year-old actress return.

SyFy Pushes Forward "Sharknado" International Release To Take Advantage Of Online Buzz

Ian Ziering Tara Reid

Sharknado – much like it’s main subjects, it’s the film that won’t go away and just keeps coming stronger every time and flooding international markets with... sharks, raining from the sky. Ok, the metaphor got away from us there, but the main point stands. Not only is Sharknado getting an international release, but NBCUniversal are pushing it forward a bit to take advantage of the social media buzz surrounding the film. It makes perfect sense, considering that once said buzz dies down, so will the chances of anyone actually paying to see this.

Sharknado, Fast & Furious 6 Premiere
Meanwhile, Sharknado 2 is already a go, with Tara Reid commenting that she would like to act in the second one.

Sharknado, which already has a sequel in the works, is seeing its Australian TV debut to Friday night local time, with the U.K. set to follow on Aug. 7 instead of the originally planned September airing, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The SyFy channel doesn’t have a corresponding network in Australia, but Universal airs all SyFy originals on the Universal General channel.

Sharknado Sequel: Producers Begin Quest To Lure Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp Damon Lindelof Tara Reid Ian Ziering

A sequel to the cable disaster movie Sharknado - about a tornado which triggers man-eating fish to take down the residents of Los Angeles - has been confirmed by Asylum Films. Premiering on the Syfy network on July 10, the movie reeled in just 1.3 million viewers though Sharknado was mentioned 5,000 times on Twitter during the broadcast alone.

The production company have cottoned onto the fact that people on Twitter like to watch people chainsawing out of Shark's mouths - they like to talk about how bad it is, but they're talking about it nonetheless.

"Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm - on television. The fans are clamouring for a sequel. Or perhaps it will be a prequel. What we can guarantee is that Sharknado 2 will be lots of fun. We'll be announcing more details very soon. But we didn't want our fans to worry they wouldn't get their fill of more shark fin, I mean, fun next year," said Syfy's Thomas Vitale.

American Pie 2 Review

Excellent
The gang from American Pie is back in American Pie 2, or, I Still Know What You Screwed Last Summer. The immortal pie, of course, is gone, but there are plenty of foreign objects and luscious ladies to occupy the genitalia of the entire cast for a full hour and a half.

After reinventing the sex comedy in 1999's American Pie, AP2 had a high bar to live up to, and miraculously, it has done so. It actually outdoes the original (by a mile) when it comes to juvenile and crude humor. And the sex gags... jeez, the dick jokes come rapid fire, one every minute. It ain't Woody Allen, but damn if it isn't utterly hysterical.

Weak
Again, Hollywood has taken creative marketing to new heights with Body Shots. Judging by the trailers, the ads, even the tagline ("There are movies that define every decade!"), one would be led to believe that Body Shots is an incisive drama/comedy about twentysomething relationships, emphasis on the comedy.

Body Shots is not that movie.

Just Visiting Review

Good
In 1993, director Jean-Marie Poiré created a small comedy sensation about two 12th century Frenchmen (played by Jean Reno and popular French comic actor Christian Clavier) who are mistakenly transported to the modern world. The film made nearly $100 million worldwide and was never released theatrically in the US.

It's eight years later, and Poiré has directed another small comedy about two 12th century Frenchmen (hmm, played by Jean Reno and that same popular French guy) who are mistakenly transported to Chicago 2000. Hey, wait a minute!

National Lampoon's Van Wilder Review

OK

Have campus comedies really reached the point where fashionable, ante-upping gross-out gags are obligatory? I mean, do we really need a movie in which bulldog semen is served in pastries to unsuspecting frat jerks?

I ask only because "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" has such hilariously droll dialogue and such a witty, charismatic lead in Ryan Reynolds (of TV's "Two Guys and a Girl") that it's just bursting with untapped crafty comic energy that has been redirected toward the lowest of the lowbrow.

Reynolds emits an aura of smarmy charm in the title role of consummate collegiate slacker Van Wilder who, after seven years as Big Man On Campus and $40,000 in tuition, has been cut off by his fed-up father (played by Tim Matheson in one of the flick's many nods to "Animal House").

Josie & The Pussycats Review

Weak

If you were to take the 1998 Spice Girls movie called "Spice World," then remove all the self-deprecation, all the homages to "Hard Day's Night," and all the surprising wit that made it such a great guilty pleasure, what you'd be left with would closely resemble the new "Josie and the Pussycats" movie -- although the results would still be less formulaic.

A live-action revival of the girlie rock band from the Archie comics and Saturday Morning cartoons, "Josie" is a hypocritical satire of MTV conformity that carefully tippy-toes around its mockery of the fickle pop music market so as not to rock the boat with its target audience -- those very same conformist teenagers at whom it pokes fun.

As the movie opens, the private plane carrying a boy band called Dejour (ha ha, very funny) has just been crashed on the command of their evil manager Wyatt Frame (Alan Cumming), who had to get rid of the boys after they discovered the record company's subliminal messages planted in their songs.

Just Visiting Review

OK

Imagine "Crocodile Dundee" with a 12th Century knight in Chicago instead of a leathery lifelong Outbacker in New York, and you've pretty much got the crux of "Just Visiting," a slapsticky, Hollywood remake of 1993's slapsticky French mega-hit "Les Visiteurs."

Jean Reno and Christian Clavier reprise their roles from the original as Count Thibault of Malfete and his groveling servant-sidekick André, who are transported to modern times by a wizard's miscalculated spell.

How they have the dumb luck to materialize in a Chicago history museum where a Malfete descendent (Christina Applegate) is in charge of the 12th Century France exhibit isn't explained. In fact, the vast majority of the movie is dependent on the audience blindly accepting supremely stupid plot holes. But somehow director Jean-Marie Gaubert (also returning from the '93 version) manages to keep this fish-out-of-water stuff amusing, even though the film seems a little too pleased with its own self-aware cartoony-ness.

Dr T & The Women Review

Very Good

After spending the better part of his adult life in a storm of estrogen, OB-GYN Dr. Sullivan Travis (Richard Gere) is still a man in awe of women and still at a loss to understand them.

The fashionable gynecologist to every flaky high society dame in Dallas, his overbooked office waiting room is always a circus of air-kissing aristocrats in leopard print hats and feather boas.

At home he has a wife (Farrah Fawcett) who may be ready for a stay at a well-heeled asylum. Also under his roof are one slightly ditzy daughter (Kate Hudson) preoccupied with planning her deluxe wedding and another offspring (Tara Reid) who wants to throw a wrench in the works because she's suspicious of the curious influence the bourgeois maid of honor (Liv Tyler) seems to have over her sister.
