Rick Ross Survives An Attack, Jennifer Lawrence Wins But Slips Up, Lindsay Lohan To Learn Her Fate In LA

You Da Boss: Rapper Rick Ross had a lucky escape this week, somehow avoiding a hail of gunfire aimed at his Rolls Royce in Miami. The Diced Pineapples hit-maker ploughed into a nearby apartment block but emerged relatively unscathed. Now who would want to kill Rick Ross?

Silver Lining? Jennifer Lawrence's Christian Dior dress let her down badly at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening. The Silver Linings Playbook star made her way to the stage to collect the award for Best Actress, only to see her gown literally split in the middle! What caused the wardrobe malfunction?

Intruder Robs Taye Diggs' Garage, Taye Diggs Returns Home

Taye Diggs

An intruder rooting through Taye Diggs' garage got quite the fright on Sunday evening (January 27, 2013) when the man himself returned home from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Diggs and wife Idina Menzel arrived back at their Los Angeles home at 11.20pm, though the Private Practice suspected all was not right.

After wandering into his garage, Taye discovered the burglar, Hassan Juma, who attempted to flee. Needless to say, he didn't get very far and was detained by the actor until cops arrived. "The suspect tried to run away, but [Diggs] chased him down the street and was able to detain him until police arrived," LAPD spokesman Richard French told People magazine, "At this time, I don't know exactly what he did to the suspect to detain him." Juma, 20, was arrested and charged with burglary though pleaded not guilty in court. Superior Court spokeswoman Patricia Kelly said Juma entered the plea on Tuesday afternoon and will return to court on February 8, 2013. Though being caught in a garage that isn't yours seems pretty damning evidence to us, Juma clearly thinks he can get out of this one. If convicted he faces six years in prison.

At the SAG's, Digg and Cougar Town actress Busy Phillips had handed out the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series to Claire Danes, of Homeland. He and wife Menzel later danced to the beats of DJ Pesce at the official after-party.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night Trailer

Dylan Dog is a private investigator unlike no other. Based in New Orleans, Dylan is more of a paranormal investigator than a normal detective and his clients are somewhat of a specialist field, most of them are dead; and if they do have some form of pulse, they're certainly not of human.

New Best Friend Review

Bad

A boring, unfocused twist on the dangerous-in-crowd B-movie archetype, "New Best Friend" stars innocent yet mysterious Mia Kirshner ("Exotica," "Not Another Teen Movie") as an insecure outcast at a tony North Carolina college who falls into a drug-induced coma a few weeks after falling in with the campus snob squad of well-heeled sexpots.

It seems party girls Meredith Monroe ("Dawson's Creek"), Dominique Swain ("Lolita") and Rachel True ("The Craft") took dowdy, pouty Kirshner under their collective wing and gave her a makeover that changed her life. Freed from her frumpy sweaters and bed-head hair, the girl suddenly lost interest in schoolwork and her one-scene nobody of a best friend. Now she's all about lip gloss, snug little spaghetti-strapped tank tops (braless, naturally) and inexplicably confident flirtations with the Big Man On Campus (Scott Bairstow), who didn't even know she was alive a few scenes earlier when he walked by in studly, teen-movie slow motion.

Now that she's laid up in a hospital bed, her barfly mother is screaming how the popularity triad must have done something to her, and the small town's temporary sheriff (the talented but badly miscast Taye Diggs) is conducting an investigation that the school's snooty dean wants kept quiet.

Malibu's Most Wanted Review

Weak

There are exactly two funny performances in "Malibu's Most Wanted" -- a one-joke comedy about an over-privileged white-boy wannabe rapper -- and neither of them are by top-liner and co-writer Jamie Kennedy.

Expanding on a two-bit sketch character from his self-titled WB network variety show, Kennedy plays B-Rad G (nee Brad Gluckman), a pathetic poser "from the 'Bu," where "everybody's strapped with a nine" (nine-iron, that is) and "most of the time the police won't even come through" (because the town is pretty much crime-free).

Being from a straight-laced political family, Brad has become such an embarrassment to his father's gubernatorial campaign that daddy (Ryan O'Neal) hires two Juilliard theater graduates to play gangstaz, kidnap the brat and drop him in Compton to scare the imaginary "ghetto" out of him.

Equilibrium Review

Unbearable

The worst theatrically released sci-fi flick since "Battlefield Earth," "Equilibrium" is so blatantly derivative as to be insulting, so absurdly hackneyed it's hard to believe it's sincere, so full of scenery-chomping it's a wonder the actors don't weigh 300 lbs. by the closing credits -- and as a result it's such a laugh riot that it may well be the funniest movie of 2002.

The plot -- brazenly pillaged from "Fahrenheit 451," "1984" and "Brave New World" -- concerns a high-ranking government "Cleric" named John Preston (chisel-featured Christian Bale), a ruthless and deadly law enforcer in a "Metropolis"-styled dystopian future where emotions (and by extension, music, art, poetry, etc.) have been outlawed.

The populace takes twice-daily doses of a stupefacient called Prozium, but when passionless Preston misses a couple injections, has a confusing day of emerging feelings, then finds himself staring into the big brown eyes of a cute little puppy he's supposed to kill during a raid on a "sense offender" hideout (insert shots of famous paintings being torched with a flame-thrower here), he...just...can't...do it.
