Notoriously reclusive movie director Terrence Malick is set to direct a biopic of CHE GUEVARA - just five years after he made The Thin Red Line.

Malick was heralded as a genius in the '70s with BADLANDS and DAYS OF HEAVEN, but then abandoned Hollywood for 20 years before staging a comeback with The Thin Red Line.

New flick CHE - an epic about the life and death of the Cuban revolutionary - will have Benicio Del Toro in the title role.

OCEAN'S 11 director Steven Soderbergh was originally slated to helm the project but is now expected to act as a producer.
