Terry Farrell (born Theresa Lee Farrell; November 19, 1963) Terry Farrell is an American former actress. She is probably best known for playing Jadzia Dax in 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Childhood: Terry Farrell was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her parents are Kay Carol Christine and Edwin Francis Farrell Jr. but she was adopted by Kay's later husband David W. Grussendorf. In 1978, she vacated to Mexico City as a foreign exchange student. Later, she took her love of the city to New York where she signed to Elite modelling agency and subsequently landed a contract with Mademoiselle.
Film Career: Terry Farrell began to study acting while modelling. Her first big roles were in the 1983 television series 'Paper Dolls' and Back to School opposite Rodney Dangerfield. In 1989, she guest starred in the TV shows 'Quantum Leap' and 'The Cosby Show'. In 1992, Farrell played the role of Cat in a pilot of a U.S. version of space comedy 'Red Dwarf', but the series was not picked up.
Farrell landed a lead role in television show 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' as Jadiza Dax. The series debuted in early 1993 and she decided to leave after the sixth season. Following 'Deep Space Nine' Farrell co-starred on the comedy series 'Becker', playing Regina 'Reggie' Kostas. Farrell featured in 94 episodes, until being replaced by Nancy Travis in 2002. Farrell voiced Six Of One in the animated short film 'Tripping The Rift', which was later a Sci-Fi Channel TV series.
Personal Life: Terry Farrell is married to Brian Baker, a former Sprint Corporation spokesman. The two have a son together and they live in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Farrell hobbies include sewing and quilting. In 2001, the asteroid 26734 Terryfarrell was named after her after it was discovered by William Kwong Yu Yeung.
