Fact: Former The Clash rocker Paul Simonon unveiled his latest art exhibition at the Ica gallery in London on Tuesday (20Jan15). The paintings depict biker memorabilia including leather jackets and boots.

Fact: Blur star Damon Albarn is set to make his debut as a radio Dj on Saturday (05Oct13) when he steps in for BBC Radio 2 presenter Dermot O'Leary for the day. The rocker will welcome a number of special guests during the show, including The Wire star Idris Elba and The Clash's Paul Simonon, who was also a member of the singer's Gorillaz collective.
Fact: The new Strummer of Love festival to mark the 60th birthday of late The Clash frontman Joe Strummer will take place in Somerset, England from 17-19 August (12) - 10 years after the punk icon died. The talent will be announced next week (beg23Apr12) and will feature many of Strummer's friends and "global superstars", according to the festival's website. Proceeds will benefit Strummerville, a charity established in the guitarist's memory.
Fact: French actress/director Julie Delpy is to make a movie about late The Clash frontman Joe Strummer. The Right Profile will chronicle the punk icon's life and career. Strummer died in December 2002.

Fact: British artists Tracey Emin, Nick Hornby and BILLY CHILDISH have recreated the The Clash's iconic LONDON CALLING album cover in honour of the sleeve's creator RAY LOWRY, who died in 2008. An exhibition of the pieces will go on display in London on Friday (18Jun10).
Fact: Former The Clash guitarist Mick Jones is to display a collection of his personal belongings as part of a London exhibition. The items to go on show at the The Rock And Roll Public Library in March (09) include customised stage clothes, instruments, flight cases, recording gear, posters, boxes of correspondence and song lyrics.

Fact: A Christmas charity gig is to be held in London on 21 December (08) to celebrate the life of late The Clash frontman Joe Strummer. Acts scheduled to appear include THE ROTTEN HILL GANG, THE RIFF-RAFF, DAN SMITH and THE SAVAGE NOMADS. The proceeds will go to Strummerville, the charity founded by Strummer's widow LUCINDA shortly after his death in 2002.
Fact: Former The Clash star PAUL SIMONON is to stage his first art exhibition in six years this month (Apr08). The bassist-turned-painter is exhibiting a selection of oil paintings in an east London gallery from 17 April (08) until 9 May (08).

Fact: Late The Clash rocker Joe Strummer contributed guitar for JANKY HOLOCAUST, a track recorded for the long-awaited GUNS N' ROSES album CHINESE DEMOCRACY, two weeks before his death. Frontman Axl Rose has since ditched the tune from the finished album.
Fact: <p>GOOD CHARLOTTE siblings JOEL and Benji Madden have teamed up with rap sensation The Game to record a new tune. The pop punks claim the untitled new track is "The Clash meets NWA". </p>
