The Handsome Family's 'Far From Any Road' Is Theme For 'True Detective'

'True Detective' producer T Bone Burnett has chosen a quirky number as the theme for the forthcoming HBO crime series in the shape of alt country band The Handsome Family's 2003 track 'Far From Any Road'.

The duo - who released the track on their sixth studio album 'Singing Bones' - unveiled their latest record 'Wilderness' in 2013 through Carrot Top Records and Loose Music. The album's tracks each share a name with an animal as they explore different territories of nature. The married duo, Brett and Rennie Sparks, worked on the album at their Albuquerque, New Mexico home as well as Chicago's Wilco Loft.

They've been going for two decades and have seen a myriad of artists covering their songs including the likes of Cerys Matthews, Andrew Bird and Jeff Tweedy. They are also set to hit the road across Europe in the coming months, with dates scheduled in April and May 2014.
