The Killers - Hot Fuss 07/06/04 - Mr Brightside Video Streams
The wait has been nothing short of agonizing but finally on June 7 The Killers release hugely anticipated debut album ‘Hot Fuss’ through Lizard King Records. The 11 tracks that make the final cut include the dirty disco breakthrough single ‘Somebody Told me’ and the ridiculously infectious ‘Mr Brightside’, which is surely set to become one of the anthems of the summer (itself released as a single on May 24).
The rest of the album is packed with soon-to-be-classics that are each fighting for the right to be the band’s next single. From the synth-heavy, live favourite ‘Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine’ to the songwriting genius of ‘Smile Like You Mean It’, to the anthemic ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’, a sure-fire festival favourite that realises singer Brandon’s dream of working with a gospel choir.
After playing a sell-out show with Jet at the NME Brat Awards, as well as their own sell-out Valentines extravaganza at London’s ICA, The Killers are currently on an extensive tour of the US. They managed to find time to support their idol Morrissey in recent shows across the pond, as well as playing a blistering set at California’s Coachella
Festival. On May 23 the boys begin their first full headline tour of the UK before playing must-see sets at this summer festivals; Glastonbury, T in the Park and Reading/Leeds. A long wait it may have been, but Hot Fuss is gearing up to become the album of the summer. In fact make that the year.
