The Muppets have congratulated Kate Middleton and Prince William on the birth of the royal baby. Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog star in a video that hit the web on Tuesday (July 23, 2013), with the former hinting that she may be ready for a little royal sprog of her own.

"Oh Kermie! Isn't it exciting Kate is a mummy, Prince William is a daddy - and there's a new baby boy!" says Miss Piggy, "Kind of makes you want to have a Royal child of your own. oh come on, can't you just hear the little pitter patter of tadpole feet?" she asks.

"Tadpoles don't have feet," comes Kermit's blunt reply, before he runs off screen for no apparent reason.

The video was filmed at the Pinewood Studios set of the new Muppets movie in London. Set for release in March next year, it stars British comedian Ricky Gervais in the lead role and follows the Muppets as they sell out grand theaters across Europe before running into Kermit's doppelganger Constantine.

Writer Nicholas Stoller confirmed that Muppets Most Wanted will be similar in plot to 1981's The Great Muppet Caper and that filming will extend to Berlin, Madrid and Dublin.

Kate Middleton gave birth to her first child, a boy, on Monday (July 22, 2013). Thus far there is no word on the name, though George remains the strong favourite.
