Today has been a great day for streaming new releases, as The National have become the next band today to put their long-awaited new album up to stream days before the official release. Daft Punk put their upcoming album up to stream today too, a week before its official release, with The National following suit soon after.

Trouble Will Find Me is due to be released 20 May, but the band have gladly become the latest group to use Apple's iTunes Store to promote the album before it's release. The band have previously released videos for the singles 'Demons' and 'Sea Of Love' from their upcoming sixth album, which looks to capitalise on the success which first began with 2001's self-titled release.

The band are working with such indie big-wigs as Sufjan Stevens, St Vincent, Sharon Van Etten and members of Arcade Fire on TWFM, but will be maintaining their signature, dreary sound for the new release. The album has been made in hand with the documentary; Mistaken For Strangers, which is a fly-on-the-wall film made by frontman Matt Berninger's brother Tom Berninger.

In 2013 alone, a number of major acts have used the iTunes Store to stream their album before making it officially available purchase, including Vampire Weekend and David Bowie, as well as Daft Punk and The National.
