The group ended its 22-year hiatus in 2013 by hitting the stage at Riot Fest in Toronto, Canada and Paul Westerberg and his bandmates have been performing a new track, titled Whole Foods Blues, at a number of shows ever since.

Now co-manager Darren Hill reveals The Replacements have actually laid down "seven or eight" new tunes, but it is not yet clear what original members Westerberg and Tommy Stinson have planned for the material.

He admits the rockers find it hard to switch from playing live to playing in the studio, but states, "The good news is that the band is really gelling, and that's got to translate when they go back in to the studio."

The Replacements' last studio album, All Shook Down, hit stores in 1990.
